I liked Episode I okay, but I certainly wouldn't call it a favorite. Nevertheless, I'd like to give Episode II a try just because of the co-op play between Sonic and Tails, and what appears to be a much better team-up system than Sonic 3 offered. In Sonic 3, in order for Tails to tote Sonic around, you had to have a second controller, and preferably a second player as well. Playing by oneself, it was very difficult to make use of Sonic and Tails' ability to take flight together, causing most people to prefer just playing as Tails by himself. However, I did really enjoy that one boss fight when Robotnik shatters the ground beneath your feet and Tails (now with unlimited flying prowess) carries Sonic through the air for an aerial battle with Robotnik/Eggman/whatever-they're-calling-him-now.
I'd heard Sonic Generations was really good. I'd like to look into it. I liked the first Sonic Advance game, though I didn't care as much for part 2 and I never played anything past that. For the most part, I've been ignoring Sonic since Sega went third party. Almost all of their recent games tend to get negative reviews.
