In this case, AnoHana. It takes a bizarre, supernatural concept that easily could have been played for dumb laughs and treated it as the basis for a serious examination of the loss of childhood, learning to let go of those who have passed on, and coping with tragedy. If Kokoro Connect just wants to be high school goofiness with a supernatural/scifi angle, then I just do not care to spend my time on it.
