Well, maybe it was voted best series of all time, but that's only because StarCraft and/or the WarCraft series weren't included in that vote.

Yes, I realize that some morons differentiate between PC and "video" games, but that doesn't mean that StarCraft isn't a video game, just because it's not played on a console.

Besides, Wind Waker was dissappointing. I just finished playing Majora's Mask last week and re-realized how great that game is, and how easy/boring/repetitive Wind Waker is.

    Well Starcraft isn't a series... yet... :)

Oh, and that list does include PC games. Note #2 on the list is Doom... I'd have chosen Warcraft/Starcraft as #1 though. Zelda would be 2nd.

    Weh..?

Right, because now Zelda is "officially" the best game (series) of all-time...?

And what does XBox and PS2 fanboys have to do with this? The series spans multiple generations..

It stunk on the N64. Just like Warcraft II and Diablo and Command & Conquer on N64 and PSX and C&C Red Alert on PSX.

Wow...thats awesome. As happy as that makes me, and as much as I agree...who the hell are they to say what the best game is. I agree with their #1 and maybe even their #2 (DOOM ROCKS!) and all, and I'm pretty sure many of their other selections are deserving too, but...I dunno...Entertainment Weekly doesn't rank so highly on my list of educated videogamers.

Okay...let me get this straight, you are calling Majora Mask, a game where you must play within the same three days, doing many things over again, less boring and repetitive than Wind Waker? I think perhaps you were confused about your game titles on that one.

I think you kind of missed the point of my post. I didn't mix up anything. Wind Waker really is that bad. Majora's Mask is LESS repetetive.

    I see.

Explain why you believe Wind Waker is so repetitive? Admittedly, I have yet to finish it, but I've found most of the Triforce and beaten the Earth Temple and thus far the game has not proven itself to be at all repetitive.

Yeah... I wouldn't call it any more repetitive than the past Zelda games... of course, if you're strictly comparing it to Majora's Mask, then I wouldn't know, as I've never played MM.

    there's a lot of sailing...

    a...lot...of...sailing...

    it gets repetative.

and i'd agree with cartoon devil that Majoras Mask is plenty better than Wind Waker.

of course i learned the ballad of gales. as soon as i got the bow i hunted down a cyclone because i was so sick of sailing... but even that wasn't perfect. it'd get you close to the island you were trying to reach, but you'd still have to sail across 1-2 squares before actually reaching your destination. and that took a long time.

Patience is a virtue you must not possess. Is it that agonizing to sail for two or three minutes across a square or two? You can even find treasure not shown on maps that way.

it's two or three minutes of just sitting there watching the solid blue expanse go by. and the treasure not found on the maps was at most a purple rupee, but more often than not it was a red or yellow rupee. i still stopped and picked up every single one i found or i'd never have been able to pay tingle for the charts.

EM, I agree with Big Guy. The sailing is dull... even if only for a few blocks, the map is so goddam big, it'll take you a little while. I was thinking about how they could've improved upon that...I think they could've made your boat a little bigger, and allowed you to go inside...where you could get rupees, or smasha few pots, or something like that...have a little cabin inside where you could pass time.

Today I sailed from Windfall Island to the Forsaken Fortress. It took me all of six minutes. Along the way I picked up some treasure, killed an Octo, blew up pirate ships and stole their treasures, and filled in a square of my Sea Chart.

Not at all tedious if you ask me, I just think you prbably enjoy games with action-every-single-second-without-a moment-of-downtime gameplay, and that's okay, but it certainly doesn't detract from the great games that WW is.

If you had some sort of cabin or whatever it is you wish there was, think that you'd miss treasures, and nothing like having the King of Red Lions being a gigantic ship. Just let it go, Darunia, and accept that fact that you are far too impatient.

Yes, and while sailing is repetive and a complete waste of time, it's not even the worst part of the game. Using the Wind Waker sucks more than the Ocarina ever did. How many times do you have to change the direction of the wind? What about taking control of a sage? It's repetitive and boring.

Majora's Mask is a much better game. Give me Epona over the King of Red Lions anyday of the week.

NO, I WILL NOT GIVE IT UP~! The fucking boat would've been better if it had a small cabin inside where you can get hearts and rupees! You coud still stand on deck too!

They could make the cabin of the boat like your house in Animal Crossing!! You could get furniture and carpet and wallpaper and even Snes games!! It'd be the greatest!!

Majora WAS better than Wind Waker! I conservatively estimate, 3.26x better.

Majoras Mask...I bought it on the day of release way back when. I was expecting a continuation of Ocarina of Time, but instead found they had eviscerated and changed the game from open exploring to something of a time trial. I played for a couple of weeks, trying to get the hang of the game, thinking it would come in time, but soon enough I realized how much Majora's Mask...oh, whats the right word...ah, yes!

    It blew.

Wind Waker is, however, just right. Just like a Zelda game should be.

Your opinion, Sir, you opinion. I like Wind Waker too; it was an awesome game, but NOT a good contemporary Zelda title. The dungeons were vast and bland, like I've said so many times, and they recycled the same enemies time and time again---every dungeon had a dozen Moblins. Such was not the case in Majora. I loved transforming into the different forms; the world was awesome and strange...the music was fun.

I think that sometimes I at least admit that while I dislike someone's opinion on some game or something, I can see that their opinion might be right for them... you don't... and same for Cartoon Devil here, "You should admit you're wrong, because you MUST know I'm really right!"...

You can probably guess who those two people are. .. :)

Oh please, you can't stand it when someone disagrees with you, and you often proclaim your opinion as objective fact. "WC3 IS the best game ever, no question", "PA IS NOT funny. No question", etc.

Have I ever mentioned how much a hypocrite you are?

Look whos talking. You'd never conceed when defeat was staring you in the face. When we had the simplest argument in the world, WHICH HAS MORE ENEMIES, WW OR OOT, and it was obvious that OOT did, you dragged it on and on...."oh, those are families of enemies, they don't count."... "oh, sure it has more, but only a few...."

    OB1 = teh stupid.

You see Darunia, the thing about that argument is that you lost. You started the whole thing by saying that there were only a few enemies in WW that you encountered over and over and that OoT has dozens of more enemies, and both claims were proven false.

So Darunia = teh biggest stupid

Not quite...as I recall, Moiraine, maybe EM and ABF sided with me and we collectively forced you to abdicate.

You started the whole thing by saying that there were only a few enemies in WW that you encountered over and over and that OoT has dozens of more enemies, and both claims were proven false.

WW DOES recycle the same enemies, but you're mixing my words up on purpose. Tell me there's not a moblin in every single fucking dungeon. How dumb is that. I never said dozens more...I stressed that it had more, and I was damn well right.

    So suck my ass.

There are bats in every dungeon of OoT. So? Why is having many of the same enemy type so horrible? Sure I liked the variety in OoT, but the greater number of enemies in a MM or (even more so in) WW is nice...

Comics? As I said in that thread it really goes down to what you find funniest... which for you is clearly quite different from me...

Oh, and I never said I didn't argue my position. I just don't say anywhere NEAR as often as you do "your opinion is completely wrong and mine is completely right for everyone"...

It wouldn't matter if you had the entire country to back you up (like the Germans with Hitler), Darunia. When you're wrong you're wrong.

And of course there's a moblin in every single dungeon. Did you expect for there to be completely new enemies for each new area? They didn't do that in any of the previous Zelda games. It's just that since there is so many more enemy encounters in WW than in Oot and MM you fight all of the enemies more frequently. Would you rather have it like OoT where there are about five real sword-on-sword fights in the entire game?

You're losing it, ABF. You argue much more often than I do. You spend hours a day debating Weltall alone, and your arguments are always the same. "I'm right, you're stupid!".
