I have a powerful PC with a very good graphics card, and the best-looking game that I've played on my system is Unreal 2. Unreal 2 doesn't even have multi-layered texturing or bump-mapping. It looks marginally better than Unreal Championship, and that's not the best-looking X-Box game on the market. Unreal 2 also suffers from a jumpy framerate, even with the most powerful PC setups. Deus Ex 2 and Doom 3 will be the best-looking PC games next year, and DX 2 is coming out on the X-Box (looking as good as its PC counterpart) around the same time. So no, PCs are most certainly not ahead of consoles in terms of graphics just yet. Maybe late next year.
