Not from Nintendo, but interesting. My main question is what SORT of rechargeable are we talking about here? If it's nickel cadmium, forget it. If it's lithium ion, I'm getting this as soon as it comes out. At least the look fits with the Wii style.

Joytech? I was hoping this was something official from Nintendo.

Yeah, I'm not big on third parties either, espcially when we're talking about something that will be inserted DIRECTLY into a controller and then have electric current going through it.

    I'm a steadfast third-party hater, what can I say :D.

Although, a rechargable pack would be nice. I've already had to replace my Wii-mote batteries twice. And it does look pretty slick...

It's not like we're talking a memory card here. As a general rule of thumb, electrical adapters are things they tend to get right, namely due to certain standards of the UL they need to match up with. I myself had a rechargeable battery pack for my original model GBA which worked the same way, right down to portable phone style stand for it. Used it all the time. The only problem was, the battery sucked and not only had to be recharged often, it eventually lost it's ability to hold a charge altogether. That's why I'm wondering what tech this will use.

I would prefer Nintendo offered their own solution though.

I had a third-party original GB battery pack (the original GB had a battery pack/AC adaptor input plug on the side, remember, so it just needed to plug into the side, not replace the batteries themselves and stuff like that one) thats plug got stuck in the system... went to the authorized nintendo repair center near here to get it fixed (back when they still had those things... this was probably like 1995 or so...). :)

... most of my third-party stuff has worked fine, though. Memory cards, etc. It is usually lower quality, particularly controllers, but it's always cheaper, so you get what you pay for...

Wait so you have to replace the batteries in the Wii Mote? That sucks that Nintendo did include a charging system for a controller that probably gets 12 hours of use a day and eats batteries for lunch.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night fourth meal, a serving of fruit between meals and a large protein shake before its 2 hour fisting of batteries. I changed my batteries nine times playing Zelda so far. However, i've been playing excite truck for 5 hours a day for the past month and my batteries are still full on wiimote 1.

    Conspiracy.

It's either the pointer or the nunchuck that's sucking the life from them so quickly but yes, I want rechargable wiimotes
