Quote:The question is, are they including Wii Sports at a loss, just the price of the disk and nothing more, or are they putting the price of the game into that system's tag? If it's the former then the extra game is a freebie.
It's $215 in Japan. Case closed -- they're just trying to extort more money out of us (and/or they know that WiiSports won't sell otherwise, which is possible).
Quote:$250 for the console and $60 for the controller [although for most multiplayer games all you need is the Wiimote] is more than I thought it would be, but it's definitely not enough to keep me away. I'll be picking up the Wii alone with a few games and an extra 'mote.
I spent about $305 when I got my Gamecube, for the system with a memory card and one game... this'll be about the same I guess -- but without the total $30 KayBee price hike that that GC price includes. I didn't really think that the Wii would sell for more than GC would... I mean, even at Kay-Bee the GC was $225... :( (and as I said WiiSports means nothing given its clear lack of depth, maybe something to show a nongamer or something but is it a game that gamers will actually want to play? I have serious doubts. And either way, I'd never buy it.)
I'm a lot less annoyed about the controller price... $60 for a battery-powered controller is ridiculous, but controller prices this gen have all gone so high... and controller prices have always been absurd. $25 for a new N64 controller, after the death of the system? Yeah right...
