best Sonic game in the making?

Quote:All it takes is a few seconds of play time and the changes to Sonic's core gameplay can easily be seen. For starters, the control has been completely stripped, replacing the original analog execution with tilt control. Players control Sonic by simply tilting the Wii-mote (held in the classic NES position) left or right. Rather than positioning the game as yet another free-roaming adventure, each level instead acts as a rollercoaster of sorts, sending Sonic on a pre-determined path, while giving the player full control over movement and speed. Since the path is already set, players use the tilt function to navigate the track, grabbing items and fighting enemies at their own pace. It may sound basic, but that's what brings the series back to its original form, as it controls like the 2D version did, while still providing a 3D feel.

I really enjoyed Sonic Adventure and its sequel so this just sounds great. I can't wait to get my Wii!

Yeah, it sounds great... everything that the previous (and future PS3/X360) 3d Sonic games are not...

I wouldn't count the 360/PS3 offerings out yet. The Sonic Adventure games were good games, and with some tweaking to the gameplay I say they could be great. The impressions thus far are a bit vague on gameplay but say it already moves faster.

We'll see, but I'm definitely more excited about Wild Fire given the controller.

the art direction for the 360/PS3 sonic is plain bizarre, i'm not sure if I like it. robotnik looks like a huge Stalin/santa clause.

Good news for Wild Fire though, i also read that this sonic will ONLY HAVE sonic! no tag along characters, just sonic.

Yeah, Wild Fire is a Sonic game only. Not tag along characters this time. And I love that about it.

Sonic Adventure 1 was a pretty good game, but the second one was just incredibly annoying.
