It's not the codename, it's the name... they've been consistently calling it that all along with no signs that it's just a codename. You just noticed? :)
and zelda: phantom hourglass too! now all we need is a traditional Metroid game...
2.5-D (3-D graphics, 2-D gameplay), side scroller/platformer, with the top screen being the traditional Metroid, and the bottom screen in first person, allowing you to aim and lock on to specific locations on enemies and bosses, use special visors (such as x-ray or heatvision), and be able to scan ala Prime all while still playing traditonal 2-D Metroid!
