Well you knew the Revolution played all GCN games anyway, and it has ports for Gamecube controllers, so I still don't see how this changes your decision by any means.
This is a pretty good move though. It's like that very VERY minor GBA support in the GBC Zelda Oracle games. Only, this isn't too minor. It'll be interesting to see which one is better for controlling this game. At the very least, if for whatever reason the revolution controller just doesn't "work out" with this game (it was designed for the Gamecube after all), we aren't stuck with it.
