MSN Messenger has the username and email seperate, and the account/friendslist is based on the email, so you can change your username whenever you want... I'd say that MSN is definitely better than AIM. I like the feature that it has where it only makes a sound if a message is sent to a window in the background, and not in a message window currently selected... I think it has looks nicer and has a better interface (and an easier to use friendslist window, just click and drag to move people), and I like the option to automatically save chatlogs... AIM doesn't have any of that... does AIM even have the ability to save your chat color choice? It's usable, but not there features-wise... odd that Microsoft has the best application, though, given that that's not true for other things (IE, Word, etc)...
