Well, if you think about it, even Splinter Cell can be played by sweeping the area and killing everyone in a discreet manner rather than sneaking around them all. I think Ghost will be kind of like that too, but with all the joys and pains of Starcraft universe.
From what I understand, Gamespy's development software has become standard Nintendo development software too. Meaning I think all of Nintendo's 3rd party developers get Gamespy's software with their development kits from Nintendo. As I see it, it wouldn't be anything different from how PC game developers would negotiate with Gamespy to have their game listed for console developers working with Nintendo. I don't think Nintendo was only using Gamespy for their network alone, I think its for all Nintendo games.
And of course, Gamespy runs its empire by using plenty of advertising, beta testing, etc, so that might be an annoyance, but at least its free. So long as my Revolution doesn't get killed by spyware.
