Some pics of the sets, the whole damn city! Awesome detail on everything and a beautiful aged look; the look of abondonment.

The one thing I fear is that they make it a straight monster movie. One of the greatest quotes of SH3 was "They looked like monsters to you?". They're metaphorical from the fear of a condemned man.

Oh man, imagine a real life Pyramid Head :D I hope the costuming is top notch!

    Synopsis:

Rose cannot accept the knowledge that her daughter Sharon is dying of a fatal disease. Over the protests of her husband, she flees with her child, intending to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, she ends up driving through a portal in reality, which takes her to the eerie and deserted town of Silent Hill. Sharon disappears in Silent Hill, and Rose follows what she thinks is her daughter's silhouette all over town. It's soon clear the town is not like any place she's ever been. It's inhabited by a variety of creatures and a living darkness that descends and literally transforms everything it touches. The human inhabitants - the ones who are left - are trapped and fighting a losing battle against the Darkness. Joined by a cop named Cybil, who has been sent to bring her and Sharon back, Rose searches for her little girl while learning the history of Silent Hill and that Sharon is just a pawn in a larger game. To save her daughter, Sharon makes a deal with a demon in the form of a little girl.....

So the story will be about the mother, not the father. Weird, but I can dig it. It also looks like this more about SH2 than the first one, but more than likely it will be a mix of several of the games. Which i'm fine with, if you chop out all the gameplay from any of the games you end up with (maybe) a half hour of straight story at the most.

Those sets are creepy just for the fact that they look exactly like the game. We need a good horror flick!

Christopher Gans definitely has the skills to do the series justice, so I hope the movie turns out alright. Could be the first good video game movie!

Actually, this story sounds MUCH more like SH1... Cybil the cop was a character in that game, and the demon-girl sounds a lot like Alessa.

I hope this movie stays faithful :crap:

On a better note, if you want to see a little Silent Hillage right now, check out Silent Hill: No Escape, a series of fan-movies. Now I know you'll hear 'fan-movie' and recoil in horror, but don't. The production values, the way the creator captures the atmosphere of dread that the game has, the subtleties and the shit-your-pants scares... it's so great. I've never seen a fan-movie that was more faithful to the source material.

Thank goodness Uwe Boll isn't directing it.
