Great! But I notice that some stuff was lost... after some point all the posts we made are gone. It's not a lot of stuff, but enough that it's definitely noticable...

All the stuff after the last backup is gone, yes. However, no biggy.
I'm back baby.

I think we lost a day or a day and a half...

Damn, the entire BG&E thread is gone...

Yeah, everything after about 4:30am 1/4 to early 1/6 when the site died is gone. About two days. Which brings up the question of why the host backed up the site two days before moving the server...

Okay, something is wrong here. Am I the only one who notices that posts don't show up, sometimes for long periods of time after being posted? I know I've posted a lot of posts that haven't appeared on my screen for a long time in the thread, and then if you hit the 'post reply' button a lot of the more recent posts frequently vanish... what is going on?

Try the "refresh" button. You might also see if there's an option in your browser to auto refresh each and every time you visit a page and turn that on. Maybe it got turned to some other setting recently or something. If it did, it won't download it from the server if it finds a copy in the cache. That's the only thing I can think of. It would both explain why you see some posts that vanish when you hit reply (it's loading the cached version from a few days ago when those posts were there instead of downloading the new one with the posts gone due to the issues lately), and the problem of your posts not showing up for more obvious reasons. Anyway, I'm not having that problem.

It's never done this before... but it seems like I have to refresh every page (including the post reply screen) after loading it to get the recent posts to actually appear... really annoying...
*checks options* Hmm, that may help. We'll see.
