Yep, that's right, Capcom has confirmed that the game is still in development.

Quote:Cube-Europe had an exclusive Q&A session with Atsushi Inaba, the producer of Viewtiful Joe. We asked him what the deal was with Dead Phoenix, and got a very interesting reply.

Atsushi told us that he did not know that a rumour regarding the cancellation of Dead Phoenix was being spread over the internet. In fact, he told us that the game is still in development at the Capcom studios in Japan.

When we said the famitsu contained an article claiming Capcom officially cancelled the game, he replied saying that he has a good relationship with the magazine and he never knew they published that news. There has probably been a communication error he said. He continued saying: "Capcom has never officially cancelled the game".

So there you have it. Dead Phoenix is still being developed. Rejoice and dance in the rain...or the sun.

We will bring you the full Q&A with Atsushi Inaba later today! Stay tuned...

    Yay!!

I have a question. What's this game about? I know ONLY the name I'm afraid.

Sounds more like Silicon Knights will be developing Kid Icarus if you heard what Dennis Dyack said today. I'll let you find it yourselves. :)

That's awesome! As for Kid Icarus, I don't know... a new Kid Icarus would be great, but the game looked pretty good on its own...

I doubt that they'll turn it into a Kid Icarus game, but it's good to know that the game is still be developed.

Btw, the Capcom 5 is back on track!!

    Who?

Yeah I played the demo of that PN03 game, and found it to be very... well dull.

Yeah, it seemed to consist mainly of running from room to bland, boring room and then shooting whatever monster was there.

ABF seemed to like it though, but then again he liked Oni.

I played the store demo for five or ten minuites several months ago. And yes, you do run from room to similar-looking room shooting stuff... and that is about it. True.

Whether its fun or not depends on if you find the shooting stuff fun... and it seemed alright. Not a great game, I'd say, but it looked okay... not good enough to get, though.

And its nothing at all like Oni...

As opposed to mindless shooters like Serious Sam [which I though was fun], P.N.03 seems like a mind-NUMBING shooter.

    That's because P.N.03 isn't a FPS, its a shooter...

All you do in PN03 is dodge and shoot, and all of the levels look the same.

'you just dodge and shoot'? Well... YEAH, I'd hope so! It IS a shooter! Its not a FPS, its a shooter... ie you shoot. A lot. :)

I agree -- it could use more varied levels.

Also... does it get old after a while? I don't know. I've only played a few minuites of it after all...

Uhh...so you're glad that the only thing you do in the game is dodge and shoot?

It doesn't even look like there's good to be much in the way of puzzles...

No, I'm just saying that in this genre depth pretty much doesn't exist...

You don't get it, this isn't Devil May Cry or Gradius where lack of depth doesn't matter.

3rd person shooters, which I think this is, need to have a certain quality. PN03, from the demo at least, lacks anything close to "fun". I didn't even bother playing the whole demo. Now Jet Force Gemini, THAT'S how you do this genre!

Yeah, yeah, it's an okay game for what it is, a sucky one.

PN03 seems kinda to be along the same line as space invaders...just with really good graphics. space invaders isn't a bad game, it's just that in this day and age, games are expected to have more depth than that...i think that what ABF was saying is that PN03 is fun in the same way space invaders is fun...everyone else is saying that by todays standards, it's shallow. both are correct. does it being fun in a space invaders kinda way make it a game that i'd pay $50 for? no, however, i may pick it up used or something, because sometimes you just want a game where you can blow things up for a few minutes and then put down.
