A ninja could flip out and totally destroy an entire ship full of pirates in like five seconds.

This argument always ends up involving robots and cyborgs... and cyborg ninja robots (if that's possible)... :)

Didn't we have an argument involving exactly these two forces some time ago?

And sure ninjas have "flip out and kill everyone" powers, but pirates have awesome one liners that actually aid them in the sword fight. Remember, the one with the most cutting insult is the superior sword...ist.

Good point there, DJ. Ninjas superior fighting powers are no match for pirates' rapier wits...

Plus, pirates have all sorts of mystical curses and stuff. You know, curses that seem to do a lot more FOR them than against them, like being undead while maintaining all your mental faculties?

Of course, ninjas have all that crazy magic stuff like ninja homing stars.

DJ, undead pirates are okay... but they can be so much more than that! Such as demon zombie ghost pirates... no ninja could ever stand up to such a being. :)

A circumstace such as that is just about the same as Cervantes versus Taki :D.

    ...

    Cervantes wins.

Ben Roethlisberger could kill a whole nation of robot pirate ninjas just by throwing touchdowns at them.

    Yeah, Cervantes wins.

Taki is overrated, and Cervantes is cool. I don't play as him, but he's cool...

It's tough though... Pirates are cool, and Ninjas are cool too... who wins depends on which kind of pirate you're talking about, I think (and what kind of ninja too, I guess...). Undead/ghost/demon pirates win. :)

Anyone ever have teachers that attempted to get class interest by compairing whatever they were teaching to sports, at all possible times, regardless of whether the analogy even made sense?

I seem to recall a history teacher trying to get the class interested in the battles of ancient Rome by comparing the soldiers of Rome to football players. Basically he actually had a chart comparing all the equipment of a football player to the equipment of a soldier, right down to calling the football a sword.

    ...no dice...

Sorry, but a game player can in no way ever dare to compare themselves to an actual soldier. The "enemy" in any sport is not actually attempting to KILL them. They are just attempting to score a point. Also, in a sport, anything goes does not slide, not with that referee guy there. In a war, all is fair as they say. Seriously, you stick a football player in the middle of a battlefield and, unless the guy also happens to be a soldier, he's pretty much dead. And last I checked, you don't toss a sword back and forth in a game of keep away in battle.

MI4 may not have been as good, but you are forgetting his final transformation into the politician demon zombie ghost pirate. I'm pretty sure him being a politician really was intended as a "this is the worst form yet!" type of joke.

Also he had a giant robot.

But then there's the mystical ninja with his own giant robot. Impactoooo!

Oh, I remembered those facts (and he's a politician from the beginning; it's just that in the end he gets a giant robot too... and you fight him in your giant monkey robot...). I was just intentionally leaving that part out, despite their humor factor, to show my overall dislike for that game. :) (and yes, it was definitely a 'this is the worst form yet!' joke... kind of funny too, actually... it's not that that game was never funny... it's just that compared to the first three games, it was dissapointing. MI1 and MI3 were just so amazingly fantastic that a game that is just ... kind of good, I guess... did not compare.)

"That's the second largest giant monkey head I've ever seen!"

Quote:But then there's the mystical ninja with his own giant robot. Impactoooo!

You have a point here... Goemon makes ninjas cool too... and Impact is awesome...

Guybrush (sure, he's not a demon, zombie, or ghost, much less a cyborg or robot, but he keeps beating such pirates, so he must be better than them, right?) vs. Goemon: Who Wins?

I know who loses, though. Ebisumaru. :)

Roethilisberger is nearly invincible. Only Bill Belichick knows his weaknesses, and no one else has ever stopped him.

Is it just me or is Ryan taking part in a completely different conversation that the rest of us Confused

Anyway, who would win in a fight? Cervantes de Leon or LeChuck the zombie/demon/politician pirate? I think it'd be close, I don't believe they had root beer in Cervantes' time.

ABF, I have no idea why OB1 didn't think you have a sense of humor, but this line:

    That is comedy.

Hmm... if it's a straight-out fight, I'm not sure. Cervantes is awesome, but LeChuck can't be beaten by normal means... you need to beat him trickily with puzzles. I'm not sure if Cervantes is smart enough to win... :)

But remember, pirates aren't really about killing, they are about the l00ting.

So here's a question, who would steal from the other... better?

Yeah, but they really don't do much hording. Pirates have seminars and stuff all about that. Ninjas just kill. They might accidently slit a random throat and go back and when the ninja boss asks them if they have it they would be all "oh great, I didn't get it, ah geez what did I even do back there? Wait a sec".

Pirates would totally own ninjas. Here's why:

1.) Awesome pirate ships! Arr---shiver me timbers!!
2.) Johnny Depp is one of them!
3.) They've won five World Series titles! Ninjas: ZERO
4.) Peg legs and eye patches are a great advantage!!
5.) Ruthlessy efficient without hampering moral code!
6.) The right of parlay!! Arrr me matey!!
