Definitely. Those characters just don't make sense in a 'realistic' world, and the fact that they keep trying is pretty sad...

DJ: You're right about the 'evil twin' thing... :D

    Evil twins = over-used cliche

Not that I wouldn't use it anyway, but that's just me.

    "Urban", meaning "black"?

    What, here's your spear.

My WHAT? Isn't this supposed to be in space?

It's a SPACE spear. It shoots lasers!

    New details:

Quote:Sega has announced that Takashi Iizuka will be taking control of Shadow the Hedgehog. The game's anti-hero will be tormented by his past but also have to confront aliens, the G.U.N. army and Dr. Eggman in over 50 missions.

"Since we first introduced him in Sonic Adventure 2, we have wanted to feature Shadow in his own game," said Takashi Iizuka, Game Director, SEGA Studio USA. "We maintained Shadow as a mysterious character and now fans can control his destiny by engaging in a unique gameplay experience that offers a multitude of possibilities!"

"The Sonic franchise has sold more than 38-million units worldwide and SEGA plans to support this new brand with a complimentary lineup of new Sonic products across all platforms in 2005," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "We expect Shadow The Hedgehog to be a cornerstone title in this strategy as well as a new and dynamic brand for SEGA."

The game is due out later this year, but that is as detailed as the release date is at present.

    I can't wait.

Quote: Shadow The Hedgehog allows players to collect an arsenal of weapons, vehicles, and objects to rocket through more than 50 unique missions. In his feature debut, Shadow is tormented by a dark past, struggling to discover his true identity. He is caught in a complex battle between aliens, the G.U.N. army, and Dr. Eggman, and discovers that he may be the very element that will tip the scales between good and evil forever.

Is he an android created by Dr. Eggman? Is he the original Shadow simply suffering from amnesia? Or is there an even more sinister explanation? Now, gamers will decide in a race against time by choosing between any number of routes by which to unveil the secrets of his past. Multiple endings will reflect critical decisions at every stage of the game. Gamers have ultimate control over Shadow's past, with the potential to rewrite his history time and time again.

Lookit his hover boots. The gun should be in that style. Like, roundish with the same color scheme.

Is it really that hard to make a gun that doesn't look like it was ripped off the cover of a rap album?*

I don't think this game is going to destroy our youth, but it is a stupid thing to put in a Sonic game. It just doesn't fit at all.

    Wonder Twin Powers are AWESOME.

    ...

Why aren't they in the Justice League anyway? And where's Black Vulcan (sorry, SUPER Vulcan), and Apache Chief, and that one guy that's like a fusion of two people with nuclear flames that can do stuff to everything except organic stuff?

Hmm... perhaps Justice League is aiming at a bit older agegroup than Superfriends was? Like, perhaps teenagers instead of elementary school kids? :)

That'd mostly explain the lack of the Wonder Twins... unless they just decided that they were stupid or something and didn't want to put them in this show. They kind of were, you know... I mean, turning into water? Saving kids from things like running away from home? Uhh... :)

Actually there was a Justice League Unlimited episode with all of those Superfriends guys (with different names in some cases, for obvious reasons), and it was pretty interesting. A nice little twist to those lame characters from Superfriends.

... obvious reasons? But aren't they both shows with superheroes from the same universe (ie Marvel or DC)? Or is that wrong?

Well... it makes fun of... twins...

    Yeah, it is stupid....

But hey! It's not like they couldn't make them WORK somehow. Just put them IN there, and give them something lame like their original names, none of this "Long Shadow" stuff!

Just resurrecting the past to remind us that Metroid isn't the first series to completely destroy it's roots. The diff is in this case it's a matter of aweful writing while the art style is perfectly acceptable.

...Though actually what's with the mole on Samus's face? Clone I tell ya! Send her back to Queen Dopplepopolus!
