Holy God, did anyone know about this? I knew there were countless fan-remakes but I thought they all used Chrono Trigger's original 2-D artwork!

"Created in the five developers' spare time, Chrono Trigger Resurrection is a fan-made, professional-quality remake of the SNES classic Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger is realized in full 3-D with an enhanced soundtrack to boot!

The 10-scene demo is being developed for the PC, Xbox and GameCube, though the latter two will only be available to official developers with GC or Xbox development kits."

Yeah, a bunch of pro devs working on it for fun. Just a few scenes from the game, though. Still, it looked better than anything Square has made in ages.

Too bad Square Enix made them stop work on it.

Oh man, I hope I can get this atleast for the PC! I know some people at fullsail with GC dev kits who are all CT freaks so i'm crossing my fingers!

I'm speachless! If Square would release this game on Gamecube you would see a shift in the industry that would be echoed for years!

Square made them quit working on it, so they never got to finish the game. So unless they're secretly working on it and aren't afraid of getting sued by Square, don't expect to ever play it.

Sorry lazy, I found out about it too, but it's illegal... Really it would have cut into Squeenix's coffers, so they had a point.

I doubt it. In fact they could likely have purchased that game off the devs for a pitence and then made a small fortune off of an official release.

Yeah, they could have done that, but that would be surrendering, and Japanese don't surrender, and kill those who do! *watches History channel some more*

This would not have "cut into Squeenix's coffers" because they don't seem to care about the series. They'd' rather make FF 42 and DQ 30.

Could someone please tell DJ that it wasn't a full game that they were making, just a recreation of a few scenes from the game? So it was no threat to Square, other than the fact that it looked a hundred times better than their recent games. So it was more about pride than anything else, no doubt.

How could anyone step into that and demand it be halted? It looks so great! What does Square have to lose by officializing and backing the product? Jeeze.

It takes away development time from their next music-video RPG.

And to think I used to love Final Fantasy. I still don't know what the fuck happened.

Final Fantasy used to be an excellent series. Seven was the peak of its greatness, and it all went downhill from there. Still, at least eight and nine were good, just not as good as seven. It wasn't until ten came out that the series actually began to blow. I think it's too late for that series, so let's just do like the Simpsons fandom: pretend #9 was the last one. (The ninth season, in the Simpsons' case.)

Nah, because I don't have that opinion. To me, FF6 is my favorite, though I also liked 7. Both of those were pathetically easy though, so the challenge present in FF8 was nice, and also I actually really liked that game.

10 was the first one I found below par. I enjoyed some parts, but it was too linear. 10-2, well not as linear... But... Seriously you knew the audience they were aiming that at... Seriously, the only way to really take FF10's story seriously after that is to pretend it didn't turn into FF10-2. I've heard good things about FFXI, but WOW is my MMORPG of choice if I indeed were to get one of those, and honestly, the whole genre is rather disappointing. How does one get obsessed with what amounts to a constant repetitive scavenger hunt? Sure when it's done right, like Jiggy hunting (and remember, jiggy is the universal slang for any sort of random thing you have to find constantly in a 3D platformer), it's insane fun. When it's done exactly the same over and over again (ie... kill this thing, okay now kill that thing), it's not...

But hey, honestly I don't think Squeenix has gone downhill myself. They have 2 FF games, one I consider a disappointment, and one that has an intelligence insulting storyline (Yuna frickin' BECAME A POP-SINGER!), but other than that they still make good games. I really enjoyed Sword of Mana, which was NOT "just a remake", that was an entirely new game with a rough outline of the story of the original as the framework. I'm really loving Chain of Memories as well (not a remake, a new game in the series, for some reason people think it's a remake...). This Dawn of Souls game? Well the bonus material is pretty good, but honestly, I think they really made FF1 pathetically easy... FF2 was only recently released stateside in the Origins collection before that (keep that in mind lazy, the FF2 in Dawn of Souls/Origins is the real thing, so the story and gameplay are going to be totally different from what you played on the SNES, eventually they may release FF4 on GBA or DS...). Just to give an idea of how easy they made FF1, in the original, you had 7 levels, each with their own MP pool, which maxed out at 9 MP. You couldn't cast more than 9 of any spell, and it took leveling up a lot just to get that maximum in the lowest spell level. In this new one, the MP is one large pool just like in the rest of the series (because they want to kill off all that makes the games unique :D) and it skyrockets way into the 20's within the first 5 levels, which you gain before even fighting the first boss without even trying. Spell cost isn't that great so they didn't really do much to counter it.

No matter, anyway like I said they are still making good games. I still hope beyond hope they will make Chrono Break after all... Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is also one of my favorite TBS games on the GBA. The multiplayer really makes it worth it. Also, Crystal Chronicles does the "dungeon crawler" genre right if you ask me. Honestly I think of all the Gauntlet style games made, this one is the best, and also is the best by a VERY large margin. I never enjoyed actually playing those types of games before that one, plus I love that art style.

Anyway, I'd say that Square-Enix is still making good games. They haven't gone the way of Sierra yet.

    hahaha... A/S/L?

I'm getting really curious about DJ. I think it's becoming unhealthy. I'm wondering what type of girl DJ is and then i'm wondering what type of human it is. If she's a he who wants to be a she...yunno? remember Jomarkiller? he would always joke that he's a girl and then he told everyone he's gay. And then I called him a faggot and we were good friends for a while and had fun on the dorks board back when it EXISTED. I know like 3 girls (4, if DJ's a girl) that play video games. One of them is Minka and the other two live in my brain and make me think i'm hot while i'm masturbating. I dont see them as much as i'd like to... stupid marriage...

Oh well, in my world of chronic temptation DJ's a cute girl and i'm a cross between Lewis Black and Brad Pitt... the latter being a cross of defiance and spiteful animosity.

Anyone ever see the movie Pat? Yeah, not that good, but it had it's moments, namely when that neighbor guy went insane trying to figure it out.

Lewis Black IS comedy! We can't fix the hole in the ozone! Oh we have sunblock, but I don't trust that stuff at all! That's why when I go to the beach, I use CRISCO! Because when you start to sizzle, you move your arse!
