Wow 18 years old. If you lived in Alberta, you could legally drink alcohol by now! Sucker.

If I actually wanted to drink, I would be by now! Whee!!

Actually, I got Final Fantasy 1&2, a cellphone, a navy-blue sports jacket, and some money. My parents are a bit strapped for cash this year, but I may get it for Christmas. If I don't get it then I'll just go out and buy it with the money that I got.

    1) They don't show season one episodes anymore.

    2) Once you see it you'll want to see it over and over and again, and recorded tapes just suck.

    3) The dvds have great bonus features.

    4) You are a dork.

When you buy something on DVD you can watch it ANYTIME YOU WANT instead of having to wait until someone decides to air another episode.

I'd only buy a DVD for something I knew I would want to watch a bunch of times... most things (movies and tv shows) I wouldn't really want to watch more than once so watching the show or renting the movie is plenty... which is why I only own a couple of DVDs. And the few TV show DVD sets I did wish I had (such as the Star Trek ones) are just too expensive to be worth it...

    Happy birthday!

The legal drinking age here in Alabama used to be 18 (if it still was, I'd be old enough) but it was raised to 21 a few years ago.

Yeah, me too. I have every season of South Park, Futurama, and Family Guy out right now, and I wish Animaniacs would come out on DVD too. I also buy every movie I like on DVD as soon as it comes out.

Yeah they really need to release Tiny Toons and Animaniacs on dvd. In the meantime get the superior Loony Tunes Gold collections. Awesome stuff.

My brother has the first gold collection and he's getting the second one for Christmas. I'll borrow them from him when I'm finished borrowing his Futurama DVDs. :)

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Warner Bros. releases Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, etc. on DVD. I think they just want to get their top icons out of the way first. With the popularity of their early 90's cartoons, though, they'd be crazy not to release them on DVD sometime before the decade is over.

Seriously, why spend lots of money on things you are going to use once for a day for a couple of hours and then maybe never again or at least very infrequently... doesn't seem like a good use of money, unless you really have no other way of getting the thing.

That's why I spend money on DVDs of shows THAT ARE GOOD and that I'll likely watch NUMEROUS TIMES.

True... I guess it just goes to how much you watch (or re-watch) TV shows... I'd like to own some scifi stuff, but other than that I don't have intrest in TV show season sets.

Neither do I really... Once I've seen a show that's good enough for me generally. Maybe if I see it again I might watch it again, but eh, it's fine just getting it from TV.

You know, Adult Swim has said many times that "hey, we give this stuff to you for free, stop complaining!" or something to that effect. Just one thing. THEY ARE ON CABLE! So NO you stupid company, it's NOT free!

I have the first four seasons of South Park, both volumes (all three seasons) of Family Guy, and all four volumes of Futurama (which are actually my brother's). I plan to buy all future seasons/volumes of those shows as well. (There probably won't be anymore of Futurama, but whatever.) If I can just get Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain on DVD, then I'll be quite content with my DVD collection. Yes.

Well, save for a few uncut anime collections. Too bad those cost a pretty penny.

I think I've heard that before there and yeah, it is really stupid... it is not free, quite clearly.

Children watch the same shows over and over and over and over and over... I don't, usually. Even if it's a move I really like I'll probably just watch it a few times and then quite rarely after that...

I frequently re-watch TV shows and movies that I like. If a particular show is especially good, then I'll run it back if I taped it and watch it again. My DVD set of The Critic has had at least three run-thoughs since I got it. Movies sometimes get watched two or three times once I get them (I sometimes listen to the commentaries).

It's not a one-time investment, ABF. Us normal people enjoy watching things over so we can use the lines in future conversations :).

By the way OB1, this season of AD is much funnier than the first.

By 'watched it a couple of times' I really meant 'watched once normally and then again with the commentary'... when it's a rental it's harder to fit in watching a film twice, but most of the time there's enough time to get through all the material... and (like everyone else in my family) I just don't see the point in buying films when rental is cheaper and I won't be watching the movie over and over anyway.

TV shows have a better arguement because they aren't as common at video stores... you can find some, but not all, so for rarer ones for shows not on TV anymore or something it'd make sense to buy the DVD. Like for foreign films and some anime and stuff.

You're so weird, ABF. I've watched a lot of the DVDs in my collection numerous times, some of them could be as high up as 5 or 6. With some DVDs I don't really feel like watching them more than once or twice, but a lot of times I'll look through my DVD collection a find something I haven't watched in a while.

Did you watch all of season one? Season two has been hilarious, but only a bit better than the amazing debut season because you have an even greater appreciation for the characters (thanks to time) and all of the great running jokes throughout the show. "Brothero! Brothero!" Lol
