i meant i wouldn't want to live in an all guy town...or a town filled with boobless women.

now if the actual TOWN ITSELF had a pair of boobs...man, that'd just be too funny.

Okay, I just saw the 75% ending. Awesome, well worth the frustration of beating the last boss again.

I finished hard mode with 100% items and 99% logbook. Krapola. Oh well, I started a new game on hard and this time by God i'm going to get 100% of everything. Even if it kills Great Rumbler.

Just to be salicious, I think this game might have a hidden suit.

No Super Metroid, the devs confirmed it... I mean I GUESS it could be a super-secret-hidden thing but I doubt it.

One of the guys at Fullsail (who works at a local video game store) is a tester for Nintendo... or so he says. But he says he's been recieving versions of some kind of remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus. Updated Zero Mission style. This makes sense with Nintendo lately, I want Super Metroid with some new power ups, bosses and puzzles (Metroid 3 still holds the record for most boss fights in a Metroid game, w00t). Hopefully the release of Metroid 2 (if it exists) will get in to the origins of Phazon...

    First story
Zebesian Metroid - 6 feet tall, 7 feet wide, will only take damage from a freeze beam and 5 missles. I think these, along with the SR388 type are the 'original' Metroids.

    Second story
Note* Tallon 4 Metroids are not true Metroids. They are genetically spliced variations for the pirates to learn about their energy siphoning and producing systems

Tallon 4 Metroid - 3 feet tall, 2 feet wide, will take damage from anything. Grow larger when attacked. These are space-pirate made Metroids used in experiments.

Tallon 4 Hunter class Metroid - 5 feet tall, 3 feet wide, will take damage from anything. Grows larger when attacked and uses a tentacle to siphon energy from its prey. This Metroid has never existed before and is completely new, probably a result of genetic mutation either by gene splicing or phazon.

Tallon 4 dividing Metroids - Same as Tallon 4 Metroids except when attacked, will split in to 2 and are invincible to most attacks except for specific beam weapons based on their color (can still be destroyed by power bombs). These are Metroids directly effected by orange phazon, or 'raw' phazon, which was brought to Tallon 4 by a meteor. The blue phazon on the surface (and on Aether and Dark Aether) is actually manufactured by Metroid Prime itself.

    Third story
Aether Metroids - The same pirate-made genome but with a new breeding system which uses cocoons to house the infants. Infants that come in contact with Phazon will mature rapidly. This makes sense since blue phazon is manufactured by Dark Samus who is Metroid Prime.

Dark Aether Metroids - Ing possesed purple pumpkins of life-sucking death. Grow when attacked, can be destroyed by anything but take many shots to do so.

    Fourth story
SR388 Metroid - Zebesian Metroids explained to be larvae, as Metroids transform in to a different physical appearance until reaching adulthood as an Omega Metroid which is a bipedal monster over 30 feet tall and somewhat dinosaur-like.

    Second story
Metroid Prime - Gigantic spider-like shell houses organic weapon structures that immulate their mechanical cousins, this bio-mechanical shell houses gun turrets and electronic shielding systems. The actual Metroid Prime inside the mechanical suit of armor looks more like a Metroid with it's 3 nuclei, but Prime is much larger and uses 6 long tentacles to produce phazon, blasts of energy and other metroids. (my theory is that Metroid Prime was to replace Mother Brain as the pirate's organic super computer, or in other words, a queen to the space pirates)

    Third story
Dark Samus - Metroid Prime using Samus Aran's Phazon Suit as a mechanical shell. Instead of sucking up life as do typical Metroids, Dark Samus sucks up any stolen phazon and reproduces it elsewhere to create spires of phazon (probably for the purposes of creating a similar nesting ground as in Prime 1 so it can generate more Metroids)

Metroid Fusion, the 6th in the story only talks about Metroids briefly when the SA-X tries to destroy them or let them free (??). And the very last boss is an Omega Metroid that has been infected and replaced by X.

That's all the Metroids. I hope in the remake of Metroid 2 it gets in to phazon. Maybe to use phazon as the explanation as to how the Metroids are metamorphing, it would make sense for the story.

Return of Samus would have been the obvious choice for Metroid Echoes if there were going to be any hidden unlockables such as a full game. Metroid Prime had the galleries and the Metroid Fusion connection bonuses to play MP in the Fusion Suit, or play the original Metroid. Echoes unlockables are the barely locked multiplayer maps, music and the galleries. Ho-hum.

Also, I distinctly remember reading about a version of the multiplayer for Echoes where one player was Samus, another a Space Pirate, or Metroid, etc. Even to include puzzles and various gimmicks on the level to make traps (such as locking someone in a room so they cant get out unless they figure out a puzzle) and all kinds of things. I even heard there was a video of a 4 player deathmatch with everyone playing as Samus and screw attacking eachother. :D

Oh well. The game itself is awesome, no doubt. But it lacks in some areas.

Boy I hope you're right, lazy. I'd love to see a remake of Metroid 2, Zero Mission-style.

I can see it coming out for DS while Super Metroid comes out for the GBA. There's a rumor that the DS was made in special interest of using a DS game in conjunction with GBA games. The DS doesn't have, at this time, any way to hook up to a console. But if Metroid 2 comes out for the GBA, I could totally see Nintendo and Retro pulling a fast one and having more unlockables through Metroid 2 remake and Echoes. *please please please*

a spider ball that works on any surface?

    Metroids in the multiplayer?

Play as Samus in her space-jammies!?

Play as a Chozo or Luminoth warrior!?!?

    HMM! I THINK MAYBE!

Unless Retro has a 3rd Prime in development which, just by looking at the time line, would probably take place right before she leaves for SR388.

So one of the plot lines from Prime 3 would have to include all Tallon 4 Metroids being destroyed so that Metroids do not exist anywhere in the universe except on SR388, where they're all wiped out save for one, which is used by Mother Brain and General Ridley to create more on Zebes. After Zebes is destroyed the Federation (who still has DNA of the infant Metroid) clone some Metroids so that they can study it's energy siphoning abilities which the SA-X then frees in to all areas of the mother ship which is also destroyed along with the SA-X and the X itself... except for the Metroid DNA and X virus still in Aran's body, which means she has to find the DNA that the pirates and federation has, and kill herself in order to completely destroy the Metroid strain.

But then there's Phazon... and anything is possible with Phazon.

If you put Phazon in the microwave for 3 minutes it becomes the best salad dressing you ever had. Suck it, Paul Newman, go back to acting and leave the salad dressings to radioactive materials from alien worlds.

Dont put raw phazon on the salad though. You might make a Salaadon or a Crouton Bat. Crouton Bats are easy to kill with the Fork Beam or Moisture Bombs but a Salaadon is living salad that can become ANY TYPE of salad, even taco and the powerful tyrant; chicken caeser.
