Fire Emblem 2 is the most recent Fire Emblem game that was released in Japan. It isn't the game that is the sequel to our Fire Emblem that was previously released in Japan.

Ah, so it's yet another game... okay, that's fine. Just wondering. As long as it's as good as Fire Emblem... :)

But I'd still like to see the first GBA one come out here. :(

So there are now 3 Fire Emblem games for GBA....

But, calling it Fire Emblem 2 here is a mistake of bigish proportions!

REMEMBER FINAL FANTASY NINTENDO! *fades away as a dream* Remember Final Fantasyyyyyyy....

Seriously though, just translate the subtitles for the games and use that as the US title. Why won't they just do that?

I completely forgot about Virtua Quest. The only thing I remember is someone was deeply offended at that offering for some reason... Not really interested in it myself.

The only thing on there that even conceivably could interest me is RE4; and even then...

Interesting games on that list? Hmm, for Cube there's DK Jungle Beat, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, and (sometime) Zelda, and for GBA there's Minish Cap, Yoshi's Universal Gravitation, Wario Ware Twisted, and Fire Emblem 2... not a bad lineup there, leaving out the DS... okay, it's a bit thin, but Nintendo wouldn't announce everything they are going to release in the next half of next year now, so be sure there will be some unannounced games added to the list in the future.

Oh, and for the time being at least Nintendo is clearly following up on its promise to have the GBA and DS coexist... the question is how long it will last.

Darunia, are you just not into games any more or what?

That list contains a ton of things that ARE gaming.

Yeah I saw that list a couple of days ago but was too lazy to post it here.

Great news about FE, I knew that Nintendo would wait to release another GBA FE until the GC version came out, and I was correct. I just hope they don't actually call it Fire Emblem 2. That would be so incredibly stupid. And hopefully they'll release the first GBA FE in the U.S. eventually.

As for how long new GBA games are going to be released alongside DS games, I imagine for a while. The GBA isn't like the N64 which lost support even before its succesor came out, it's still very much alive. Maybe Nintendo will release Mario RPG for it? Hmm? I can only hope...

Yeah, with is very high level of success and the game compatibility with the DS, I could definitely see GBA games going on for some time. It happened with the SNES after all... it'll presumably end sometime, but it's clearly going to be at least six months anyway (of first-party GBA support) and depending on sales it could go on longer.

And yeah, it makes sense to release the next FE handheld game at the same time as the major-console one. The naming thing is stupid, but most people won't care much... and maybe they want to hide the fact that they've been withholding this fantastic series for so long? :)

Again, they need to remember Final Fantasy! It's a pretty stupid thing to think they can actually pull it off. What happens years later when, and you know it'll happen, Nintendo of Japan releases a collector's set with all the Famicom/Super Famicom Fire Emblems, and Fire Emblem fans here, which there will be a lot of, start clamoring for it? Well, I assume they will need to find a name solution. They'd end up releasing them with the original names most likely, like Square eventually had to do (calling FFVII "FFIV" would mean they would have to call the OLD ones like FFV and such), but then they have a lot of confused people saying, wait, I thought THIS was Fire Emblem 2.

Then you end up with a lot of FAQs written by people who THINK they got it right only they screwed it up and then people, not aware they should check the facts, will all believe it, and it will all annoy me personally. And then, when Nintendo is dealing with lots of confused calls, I shall be there, saying "I totally told you that you should have released the first US one with it's subtitle! I totally tooold yoooouuuuu.... guys....".

They'd do like Earthbound and not release it here because of "lack of interest".

That is to say, I don't see us getting the NES or SNES Fire Emblems anytime soon. Maybe the first GBA one, but they could easily avoid that one by calling it Fire Emblem 3 Fire Emblem: some subtitle or something... I mean, it is set after FE after all. :)
