Anyone doing anything at all? I think I'll start off playing a bunch of halloween levels across my various games that in fact have one of those.

The sheer subtleties are some of the funniest part. Serve up a SATCHEL! SATCHEL! SATCHELS ARE SO POPULAR THIS YEAR! This IS my costume! How did he get a toenail in the throat again?

I was going to go as Kenny from South Park, but every auction on eBay for a Kenny costume gets out of hand and the bids reach over $60 a day before auction end. So... I may not go unless I can think of another character to go as. (Possibly Black Mage.)

Playing Halloween levels of your video games, you say? I think that's what I did for Halloween last year... or maybe the year before. Or maybe both. I remember playing through the Gloomy Gulch levels of DKC2. I might do that again this year if I don't go trick-or-treating. And I'll eat the candy that I should be giving to trick-or-treaters, watch Halloween episodes of my favorite shows on DVD, and watch the Halloween Homestar Runner cartoons. (I hope they make a new one for this year too.)

I'll play Banjo Kazooie in that level when you turn into a veggie tales character, er, pumpkin with a backpack. Then Kingdom Hearts in Halloween Town (one of the only two places where Donald actually uses his disguise magic, I still don't get the whole jack o' lantern eyepatch on Sora's vampire costume... Japanese people are weird, which I say because you only expect America to have a culture where people do things just for the craziness of it, other cultures don't ever do that, EVER, it ALL has some deeper meaning, ALL of it!). Oh yes, I'll stop by Animal Crossing for the standard Pumpkin King contest. Then, off to Shade Man's stage in Mega Man 7 (wow, there are like 3 long lasting series with that whole alliteration thing going for it...).

Then I'll go out, but ya know, at a certain height, in order to justify your existance any more, you need to be escorting actual kids around with you to get candy :D.

The only costume that can actually scare anyone is, well any costume where you put a big piece of black material over your face, that you can see through of course. Not too many people seem to understand that black is a LACK of light, so they all get totally shocked at how convincingly black in the middle of the night looks like nothing :D. That's your best bet if you are going to be a black mage, but good luck finding some nice big yellow glowing eyes. Ya know, if Kenny is that guy in the orange, and I'm almost certain it is, then can't you just buy an orange coat with a hood? It's not exactly like that whole outfit is something you need to buy from a costume shoppe or anything... Oh wait, if you are English, that would be "HIRE" a costume. Those freaks, they use "hire" instead of "rent", which makes me SO ANGRY at their DIFFERING CULTURE! GRRRR!

I was thinking of doing that. Right now, though, I have no money in my account. (Damn dad making me go grocery shopping for him even after I told him that I had, like, $100 left.) So, yeah... I have to wait for at least two more paychecks and go shopping at the last minute for an orange hooded coat, orange pants, and brown gloves. (I was only aiming for the costume because it came with an actual Kenny mask.)

Isn't he human though, or was there some episode where he lowers the hood and he's a horrible monster?

He's human. I just thought a Kenny mask would look cool. He took his hood off in several episodes, but we never actually saw his face except in the movie, an episode where he and the other boys joined a cult and shaved their heads so all of them except Cartman looked exactly the same, and in a recent episode where he disguised himself as Michael Jackson's son.

In Croatia during the week-long Halloween-like holiday thing called "Maskare"... in February... most people either gave out cash or eggs. Candy... not so often. But hey, cash is good!

Croatia won't stand a chance when I unleash my Omnislash technique! *holds up the Ultima Weapon* Come on, you little son of a bitch... *is about to swing when the sword's weight causes me to fall down backwards* Ah, nutbunnies... guess there's always this Knights of the Round materia though.

Two problems. First, your HP is inexcusable, and the Ultima Weapon (or Atma Weapon as it is called in FF6 for some odd reason) has a strength based entirely on your current HP. Second, you have NO MP, and as such, that's basically just a shiny stone you have there.

Now on the udder hand (covered in cow pox), I can totally call upon the powers of this knife here. I forget the name, but the less HP I gots, the stronger it is!

I definitely remember that they did not really celebrate anything on what we would call Halloween in Yugoslavia... is it an English holiday only, or does it also show up elsewhere?

They have Maskare(accented s, like "sh") in Croatia. In February. For a week long. And did I mention that you get eggs and cash? I got around 90 kuna the first year I was there. That was about $20 back then. A lot for a ten-year-old. I bought lots of candy that week. :D

That's called a JOKE Geno. A lot of Futurama's jokes are aimed at physicists, or at least people who passed physics class.

Um... you don't make any sense, DJ... all I was saying is that it's interesting how Christianity consumed and redirected Pagan holidays after it became the main religion and it's interesting how they do that, probably to get more people to convert -- it's easier to get conversions when there are things that are familiar after all. And once those people convert they don't just forget everything they previously thought... so we get things like the birth of Jesus combined with the midwinter festival (northern Europe especially -- see Christmas trees and lights) and Saturnalia to get modern Christmas.

Did anyone else dress up for Halloween? I was running short on time and money, so I just dressed in drag. The wig, skirt, shirt, and make-up were all bummed from my mom. The fishnets, however, are mine. :D
