In Katamari Damacy you have a little guy who rolls a ball and picks up junk. That's it. That's all you do. And the graphics are barely on par with a PSX game. So then why is it one of the funnest, craziest, and most addicting games ever made? Well, it's hard to say, but in Katamari Damacy as you pick up more things your katamari [that's the sticky ball thing that pick up stuff] gets bigger and you can pick up bigger things like cats and dogs and then people and then cars and then you can pick up bigger things like houses and skyscrapers. It's the kind of game that can only be made by a Japanese person, who has perfected the art of making things that are really crazy and that make no sense. And it's only $20.

    Then you should hurry up!

Ya know, all I got is GR's super enthusiasm to get a game I never heard of. But, I must say I LOVE the concept. It's just insane!

It is an insane game. Once you get your katamari to around 100-200 meters everything just goes crazy. You're running around picking up skrscrapers, cargo ships, giant squids, and ENTIRE ISLANDS!! And make sure you stay for the credits; I won't tell you what you get to do, but it's hilarious!

I'm glad I got a copy of KD when I did and from reading that I was pretty lucky to get one yesterday.

Lemme guess, you get to roll around and pick up the credits.

Ya know, why do the final credits in SSBM, as neat as they are, have to be so centered on Star Fox?

They are neat, but it was so Starfox centered, ya know? It'd be cool if, like, each character had their own way to highlight the credits. Link could try walking into them for example.

Too much work! The credits are the end of the game, after all, and while making them cool is good that seems a bit overmuch... especially if you want a different way with each of the numerous characters. That'd take a lot of work.

I think that that would only come up if you are watching the ending many, many times. I have not played that game anywhere near that much and don't care to so for me that one ending is just fine.

Yeah I know, it's just odd that of all the Nintendo characters, the ending credits would focus on Star Fox. No matter...

Ya know, I did already post that comic. However lately, the Penny Arcade current comics are nothing but red x's when you go there. And so it is that both of our postings of the same comic are dead right now.

But yes, it is hilarious. The funniest part? The total panic followed by a casual "hey...".

And thanks to YOU GR, I actually had to get this game! It IS awesome!

What he didn't tell you is it opens with an ANIMUTATION! It's insane! All it needs is Colin and it's perfect! But more than that, that music, it's so weird. It's cool but it's like they hired a thousand gaurage bands to do this, it's insane!

It's true what they say, after wit, puns, sight gags, and depravity, the final frontier of comedy, the only thing left, is complete and total insanity.

I just got a perfect 10 meter North Star! Oh, I feel it! I feel the cosmos!

For that to happen another time, that is, it's not occuring, is indeed something I think.

C'mon GR! Aren't ya going to post your various triumphs in this game? Everyone at TC used to do that all the time! It was cool!

Anyway, I managed to succesfully roll up every country on Earth (all 195 of them). Yay! There are no more borders, and all are united for I have shown them my peaceful ways ... by FORCE!

I've also obtained legendary "Eternal" levels! I get to roll around forever because there is no such thing as an objective! They even have their own special stars! The only issue I have is if I play those levels again, it doesn't ask me if I want to write over my old star data (like every other level does) and just does it automatically. That kinda sucks if you were just rolling around for fun and made a smaller katamari than whatever your best for that eternal level was... Really though, it's the ONLY flaw I've found with the game, and so long as I don't plan on saving after playing that eternal (or manage to beat my old record), then it's fine.

Also, I got a camera! It's the only present I've found so far that actually DOES something. As you might expect, it shoots fireballs, only you'd be wrong to suspect that because it doesn't, you idiot, it's a CAMERA, it takes pictures!

This game was short, too short for my tastes, it's a shame that such an awesome game suffers shortness syndrome, but oh well, because it's not really over just yet. I still have to get all the level's katamari to the size that makes the king weep (the best rating I believe), still must find all the hidden presents I don't have yet, still have to do all the par times to unlock all the shooting stars, still have to find the largest possible cow and bear in the Ursa Major and Taurus levels (and that's been tough and a little aggrivating since you need to build a massive katamari while at the same time avoiding the VERY plentiful amounts of smaller cows and bears) and finally I still have to roll over every single pickup the game has to offer for my collections. That should give me a decent amount of playtime!

    http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/puzzle/katam...99768.html

And there's another one coming soon! I wonder, will they expand on this one's gameplay (good) or make an entirely different sort of game (also good)?

Yeah, the Ursa Major and Taurus levels are really hard to get a good rating on. Sadly, I've been deprived of KD's beauty for the past few days since I let my brother borrow. I hope he brings it back soon.

I unlocked Eternal mode on the last level, on the first try actually. It's so much fun seeing your katamari go from picking up fruit and small flowers to huge islands and tornadoes.

It really wasn't a stretch from the normal game actually :D. I mean, it was only the next step to take wasn't it? Honestly, I wasn't all that surprised as you seemed to think I would be. I will say it was fun though. I just wish it saved your highest score on "ending", the roundest of all levels.

All you really need, is love, a good diet, maybe a dog, and some other things.
