At least the Red Sox get there sometimes. :)

Yea, that's true, ABF...but is it REALLY better to get there sometimes only to always be forced out in some traumatic way? It's almost better to just never get that far, to never get one's hopes up just to have them dashed.
I've met two people with Mets hats on in the last week; neither liked the Yankess. One all-out hated the Yankees.

Look, no one was cursed the way the Buffalo Bills were.
Except maybe the Philadelphia Eagles, but in a lesser way.

The Bills curse only lasted a few years, though. We are talking about almost 100 years of futility with the Red Sox and Cubs.

The Bills curse never ended. They have descended from perpetual bridesmaids to a total existence of suckage, with only the somewhat-bright days of Flutie-Mania in-between.
Let's also not forget that the Arizona Cardinals have never won a championship in almost 105 years of existence. How's THAT for futility?

Four straight wins, 2 1/2 games back with five games left... must they torture us so?

Bo Jackson is so cool.

Yea the Eastern Division is just about over now. They won 2 tonight in a double-header; we dropped one to Tampa Bay. It's not IMPOSSIBLE, but it's bloody goddamn unlikely.

The Expo's logo---what the hell is it, it looks like a big "JL"...whats that supposed to mean?

The red part is an E for Expos, the blue part a B for baseball, all made too look like an M for Montreal.
On a sad note, I just finished watching a marathon of a baseball game, which included an hour of Expos players, past and present talking about their favourite moments, and a history of the Montreal Expos. After the game all the players took a final bow, to a standing ovation of tear-shedding fans (both at the stadium and at home, as well as the players on the field). The final game the the Expos will ever play in Montreal. It feels like I've lost a family member. I don't think that I can watch baseball anymore. Not after what the Expos and myself (and many other fans) went through watching Montreal over the years.

Well, it looks like the Rangers blew their chance to make the playoffs...

It's over. The Cubs are doomed. If the Cubs can't beat the Reds and the Mets how can they hope to beat the Braves this weekend? I hate the Cubs with all of my soul.

Quote:The red part is an E for Expos, the blue part a B for baseball, all made too look like an M for Montreal. Huh. I've been wondering about that for years... what is it, elb? jb? jllo? Never thought of that one... it actually makes sense, too! Though the logo is still quite confusing. Poor Expos... I liked them too. It's really sad to see what could have been a great team and baseball town be destroyed like that...

Yea, I like the Expos---its one of those teams that I wouldn't mind even if the Sox lost to, because I just pity them...like the Devil Rays. I didn't mind their beating us 9-4 last night at all. The YANKEES, ON THE OTHER HAND...
