Discuss... No poll required, because it's just a FACT, proven scientifically!

It rocks only in the eyes of americans since only they use an old outdated system.

Um, ASM... You DO realize that "rocks" is a COMPLIMENT, NOT an insult, right?

I like Metric, it's easy to remember conversion when they're all based on factors of 10

Canada is strange though, because of how near we are to the US imperial is still used for some things. Everyone knows their weight in pounds, and height in feet. But for distances we think in kilometers and meters. In gorcery stores prices are advertised in pounds but at the tills they're in kilograms because that's what they have to be sold in, sometimes customers forget this and they look at the price per unit on the screen and don't notice it's kilograms instead of pounds and freak out.

It's much easier to just use one system of measurement... period. And I like metric, for the reason Neo mentioned: it's easy to convert in units of 10.

Ya know, due mostly to overworking and lack of decent time scheduling, but also to the thing I'm about to mention, NASA screwed up an entire billion dollar project purely because one part of the team was using metric and the other was using standard. Keeping the dead weight of standard around can result in screw ups. One might blame metric, but the fact is metric is the system the rest of the world uses. America is certainly a ruling nation, but when it comes to things like this, it's AMERICA that has to adapt. NASA now ONLY uses metric, so fortunatly it won't be happening again. Also, they aren't using the "faster better cheaper" mindset. Because, out of the three, you can only pick 2 :D.

Plus, what other system of measurement allows you to just add on prefixes to adjectives to really add to your language abilities? I'm reading over 50 gigafonzies!

They should have made those slackers switch to Standard.

Metric will one day come to America; it's unavoidable. We're just being stubborn about it. If we'd adopted it years ago, you'd have all grown up using it, and would say "METRIC ROCKS!" today.

Um, ASM... You DO realize that "rocks" is a COMPLIMENT, NOT an insult, right?

ASM makes so much sense, in fact, that he doesn't.

And metric rocks. You can't use the whole King Henry Died Monday Drinking Chocolate Milk method with standard, can you?! CAN YOU?! I think we have a winner then.

They've been saying the US will go all Metric for decades now. Has it happened? Do most people WANT it to happen? No, and no. And that's a good thing in my opinion. :)

And unlike Canada and Britain, in this country laws to force it on us are a very remote possibility, I'd say...
