Episode III: The Game

Man, they better make this one good. There will be a preview of the game in the upcoming OT DVD set, and here's the press release for it:

Hmm. Should I care? Lucasarts hasn't exactly been impressing me for years now, and their console games, excepting Rogue Squadron, are merely mediocre to somewhat good...

LA is still one of my favorite gaming companies, but I think I have an end date of around 1999 on that. Oh, they've released good games since then, but it hasn't been the same. And not just adventure games! I mean internal LA as a whole. Remember that thing in the last year or two about bringing back the old LA, improving the internal studios, reducing the flow of bad games... where did that go...

Oh yeah, to solving it by outsourcing everything to competent developers. And canning some of your more promising internal projects.

If they outsource this game then it could be good. I think LA wants this to be good as it will be the last SW game released around the same time as a SW movie. EVAR.

If it's a FPS give it to Raven? Oh, sure, Raven doesn't match up to LA's internal group that did Dark Forces and JK1, but they were disbanded after MotS, so there isn't much I can do about that...

What I predict, however, is some kind of third-person action game made internally. Quality level? Clone Wars if it's good, but if we're unlucky... dare I mention 'The Phantom Menace'?

I don't think it'll be a FPS as there are more than enough SW FPS's to go around. It'll most likely be a third-person action game. I'm hoping for something more action-adventure-ish, as I'd be very dissapointed if it ends up being another stupid hack and slash.
