I'm probably going to regret asking this, but does anyone either know of a site or an ftp that I can get snes FF5 english rom from? Or, can someone give it to me, I have a really bad craving to play that game.

The Rom? Shouldn't be too hard to find the Japanese version... plenty of sites have SNES roms...
The translation patch (for a FFV-Japanese Rom) is available at http://www.zophar.net ... go to the SNES Translation Patches page. If you don't have one you'll also need a IPS Patching utility from the General Utilities page... then patch together the rom and patch.

Edit: Oh... Weltall, should rom site links be posted here or what?

Yeah, definitely post any sites if you know them, that'd be great.

I don't have the FF% translated ROM anymore unfortunately, I had it on my old PC but it crashed, and then I got ahold of FF Anthology and didn't bother getting it back.

I don't have much ROMs, I have about 50 NES roms and around the same number of SNES ROMs. Now, can anyone tell me of any decent NES flash cartridges I can buy?

I disagree. A ROM list is about as important as a music list. If that's not going to be stickied, then this shouldn't be either.

Well the music lists is just basically for bragging rights, all of which are still my exclusive commodity :D

The ROM list actually has a purpose, and that's for everyone to trade with each other, since good ROM sites are so few and far between.

I just finished downloading a bitTorrent not too long ago that has every known NES ROM ever. It's called the GoodNES Complete collection and it includes every US, Canadian, Japanese, Australian, and European versions of every single NES/Famicom game, PLUS a ton of hacked roms, pirated roms, unpublished, etc. The collection totals to 8820 ROMs!

I just got that GoodNES collection myself... and right now, I'm slapping those babies onto a disc and my Dreamcast is going to be getting some love for a good long time.

    Thank God for Dreamcast Emulation.

I had to cut down the size of my rom collection [due to space constraints], but I still have most of the good SNES and NES games left.

I deleted my rom list from this thread because I deleted it from my harddrive.

And even so, with everything on my HDD legal, only a few gigs of mp3s, etc, I have 103GB of my 110GB HDD full. :D

I thought you had like a ton of anime and stuff you downloaded off the internet? That's certainly not legal!

No, I got rid of all that stuff last summer too, when I got rid of the roms. And I still have since managed to fill my harddrive. :)

Romsites vanish off the net constantly... I used to have a bunch of links, but deleted them after noticing that almost all of them were dead...

This one is owned by a guy I know, and he bought it for at least a year, so it should be around for a while.

They have a decent amount of roms at that site, but mostly stuff that I already have.

It was full before, but deleting like 60 or 70GB of stuff with 110 usable gigs should mean the HDD should be a lot emptier, now shouldn't it... and it did, for a short amount of time. :)

What's it full with? Hmm... almost 100 Windows (CD-based) games (no idea how much THAT takes up... 60, 70GBs?), almost 300 demos (23GB), 72+ full-version (CD or disk) DOS games, at least 70 DOS shareware games, some freeware games (several gigs because it includes the free version of Anarchy Online)... over four gigs of assorted downloads, patches, savegames, etc... the 1.7GB Everquest 2 trial which doesn't work on my computer... 4.5GBs of MP3s (legal net downloads, CDs I have, and game soundtracks from games that use Redbook Audio so you can burn it like a music CD)... 4.5GBs of game trailers, movies, and screenshots...

And even a few productivity programs on C drive. :D

So in short, I installed several hundred game demos (scoured my five years of PC gaming magazine CDs... :D), installed almost all of my PC games, and bought a number of multi-gig titles -- in '04 I bought BG&E (2.1GB), Icewind Dale II (1.6GB), Rayman 3 (1.6GB), FINALLY got another copy of disk 2 of Baldur's Gate I and installed that game (4.2GB), KotOR (4.1GB), Wizards & Warriors (1.3GB), Tribes: Vengeance (4.8GB), Secret Weapons over Normandy (1.8GB), and Sid Meier's Pirates! (1.22GB)... plus the Guild Wars Beta, which, due to hundreds of screenshots, has now reached 1.7GB. :)

Having all of those games installed at once would do a number on any harddrive, I think. :D That's around 24GBs there...

    1. Get a big pot
    2. get a lobster
    3. put pot on stove
    4. boil water
    5. put lobster in pot. :)

... though I've never had lobster, as I know I've said before... I'm not a seafood person really.
