Any y'all play this? I played it on my friend's xbone for about an hour when I stopped in to feed her cat while she was on vacation. I don't have a bone full of ex's, so I couldn't play it at home, and was much bummed to see it was xbone exclusive.

BUT, apparently they're releasing (or have released?) it on Switch. Fuck yeah. I really love the art and aesthetic. You can tell how much love went into recreating those old Fleischer cartoons. Right down to scratches in the "film" and static in the background to mimic imperfect sound recording.

The only disappointing thing is that it's apparently pretty much all boss battles. And it's hard as FUCK. I had some trouble getting past the first few bosses, and apparently it just gets harder from there. Ain't life a bitch. (sorry for all the swearing, DJ )

Anyway, it's a good game but I only have one request. I wish I could turn off the film grain. When these cartoons were first played in theaters, they weren't covered in scratches and grain, that came with age. I want that "fresh out of the tin" look as an option.

Cuphead is good, but I think the sidescroller stages are underwhelming and those boss fights really, really drag on. I dropped it partway through...

The bosses are pretty difficult, but manageable, once you notice their patterns. I was a fan of the carnival clown, even thought it took me maybe 30 tries:



I'm not a fan of the flying levels, and in particular, fuuuuuuck this genie.

ARGH THIS FUCKING ROBOT



In the first seconds of the battle, you have to float down JUST SO to destroy the mechanism that fires the doo-dad that shoots electric rays at the top and bottom of the screen with literally no way to dodge it, ensuring a free hit for the fucking robot every time, and if you don't fly down EXACTLY THE CORRECT TIME AND POSITION TO SHOOT THE THING IT WON'T WORK, FUCK YOU ROBOT

All those goddamn bullet bills that come flying out sometimes 2 at a time and its mad fucking precarious to dodge them in just the right way and shoot to kill them with needle-like precision while also making sure to not be too close so they fucking hit you, THEN THIS FUCKING PART



I CAN'T EVER GET CLOSE TO THE FUCKER TO DO THE SUPER MOVE!!!


I've probably died literally close to 300 times by this point. Probably a third of it by that fucking robot. Don't tell ME to watch my blood pressure!

So apparently that robot dong is part of the foreground that I never saw before and now that I seen an out-of-focus silhouette robot dong frozen in time and immortalized in a screen grab, I never can't see it, that being said I BEAT YOU FUCKING ROBOT I FUCKING BEAT YOU, HAHAHAHAHA DIE YOU PIECE OF SCRAP METAL GARBAGE!!! RUST IN HELL, SCUM FUCK!!!

I also beat that awful flying level with the crazy medusa mermaid. I DESPISE the flying levels. P sure that's the last one. All I have left is cool spooky skeleton train boss. Then, it looks like I have to beat dice man, then I'm done.

Maybe. I think I saw online that there are hidden bosses. Damn. A cartoon cup's work is never done. I need to find the rest of the hidden coins to get more super powers, as long as they aren't those lame parry enhancements, I hate that damned parry, I only use it 1/10th of the time it's suggested and the other 9 times it's a distraction but w/e
