Some of that was actually funny, sure. Not the part where he insulted Nintendo games, though.

He specifically insulted Wii games, and frankly, the Wii earned it's reputation. By far way too many third party games on that system consisted of half-hearted attempts at cheap wiggly waggly mini-games. That's not to say there weren't some amazing first party games (and just a few amazing third party games), but by and large, there was a LOT of garbage on that system. Just check out the Wii's online shop and you'll find Nintendo wasn't entirely strict with handing out that seal of quality. I'm pretty sure most third party "Wii game" developers went on to make all that trash you can find on your cell phone. A more modern version of that act would decry smart phones.

To be fair, the Wii U has a lot less of that garbage, and the eShop on there is filled with 3rd party treasures instead of trash. Too bad so few people are buying the thing.

He said some really ignorant stuff though, about Mario painting or something? Contrast that to the fact-based stuff he said about the other games discussed, and it's pretty clear that he doesn't play Nintendo games and doesn't know what he's talking about.

Anyway, as for game quality on the Wii, yes, it is unfortunate that third parties didn't give the platform the attention it deserves, but all successful systems get a lot of shovelware; you'll find lots of it on the PS1 and PS2 as well, for example. With success comes developers wanting to cash in on that.
