I would like to know though, is it possible Robo might make an appearance? He should outlive everyone and was in 600AD and stayed there for 400 years. I doubt there's time travel in the game but... Prometheus would be awesome to snag in this game.
So far, the music is all the original themes remixed which is great, i'm in Termina (not THAT Termina) and it has the millennium festival music playing from CT but remixed and... somewhat Australian. Everyone has a tan and makes me feel white.
Notice that all the character portrait art is in the same style as Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask manual artwork?
Two things, Glenn isn't who you think it is. He's got the same name, and the writers were clearly giving an homage to him, but he's not Frog (he may be related though). Also, yes Robo is in the game, and plays no small part.

By the way, it's major theme is NOT "you can't change fate". In fact, you play a major part in literally doing exactly that in the game. The actions of the previous game are still in effect. It's just that there were much larger consequences than they understood. Don't worry though, time travel is still in effect (though your characters don't directly visit other eras), and the main plot of the game HINGES DIRECTLY ON major changes to the timeline and fate.
If anything, the major theme of changing your fate is even stronger here than in the previous one. It just pays a lot more attention to the fact that your choices have consequences you have to face.

You may have already figured this out, but the way you talk to people determines if they join your party or not, and who joins your party affects who else will join your party. There's no way to unlock all 40 characters the first time through. If you play a new game +, make other choices. As far as the story goes, you are still limited in who you pick, but in the battles you can "replace" characters with others from a previous game (again though, as far as the story goes, you didn't). New Game + does even more than it used to do. There's even "Continue +" that lets you dump your extra stuff into another currently existing save file. You can also fast forward and slow down the gameplay in one of those + save files. It's awesome.
There's a cameo appearence around the bend with 3 tone-deaf evil fiends.
On re-reading your first post, I have to warn you of something. Don't read too much into the theme music for characters. There's nods yes, but don't assume one character is a character from the previous game based just on little cues like that, or we'll be here all day. It gets ridiculous :D.
