    Awesome, totally awesome.

This person's working on a game where you solve puzzles in 4 dimensions. I don't mean "3 spacial plus time" I mean 4 spacial dimensions (plus time). Represending that on a 2D screen is tough I imagine, but the gameplay looks very interesting, and potentially very confusing.

The title is supposed to sound like the old book "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions", where a 2D being is introduced to the 3rd dimension for the first time.

It'll never get released. You'll never hear of it again. Too ambitious of an effort not to have any major corporate backing, and they have no plans for what system to release it on. It'll fizzle.

I'm still completely missing the point of this. As best I can gather, it's a 3D platformer in which the gimmick is that you can turn off clipping.

Darunia, lots of homebrew games get released over the web... sure, many never get finished, but some do.

As for the game, I'm not sure how it'll play... it does sound very confusing. We'll have to see, it seems like something that would have to be played to be understood.

It'll never see the light of day, just like a Sarah Palin White House.

You really don't know much about the indie scene, do you?

Weltall, it's not just "walk through walls". Imagine going in a direction OTHER than the normal 6, and then imagine a maze that involves walking in those directions. The gameplay is basically 3 of those 4 dimensions visible, and you hit a button to "switch out" a dimension for another. The entire level will completely change, and the idea is to figure out how it's changed and think four dimensionally.

I mean, seriously, saying 4D is just walking through walls would be like a flatlander saying 3D is just walking through lines.

ah good ol' hypercube, we need more of that. Oddly enough there's hypercubes in Mario Galaxy but not fully realized. A game based on 4-D could be fun if its done right. Like a hypercube'd "house" thats a space station in earth's orbit, that could be seriously badass.

    11 dimensional super symmetry!

Mario: It's a me, Mario, and I'ma here to shatter your mind with strange vistas of reality!

Peach: The only true mercy, I think, is the inability of the mind to corrolate all it's contents. I have enclosed a strange bronze relief to help you in Water Land!

Indie and independant are two different things. Indie means you have connections, like your dad owns EA, independant means you do most of your recording in your attic.
