We knew they'd been struggling for some time now, but... :(

    Aw. :(

I only have Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire, but it's still sad to see them drop off the map.

Fuck, I can't find my copy of Shadow of the Empire. Figures that it happens when I get the bite to play (which is the exact reason I never get rid of any games, unless they're absolutely abysmal).

I guess those rumors of Wii games weren't true enough to keep them open after the Superman game or whatever fell through... :(

It's really too bad, Factor 5 was exceptional at making good action games with great graphics and music. If they'd stuck with Nintendo this gen, I doubt this would have happened... but 'we're not doing next-gen graphics' wasn't enough for them, so here we are, pretty much.

... Of course, very few major Western developers DO want to spend much time with the Wii even now so that's hardly surprising, but still it's true. :)

That and then Brash closing. :(

But of course, if Lair hadn't bombed so hard they wouldn't have ever had to deal with Brash, so yeah, that really did do it. What has happened to gaming that one failed game can destroy an entire company... it's pretty ridiculous. Costs are just too high...

(But again, had they stuck with Nintendo... :))

It's a shame. Knowing Nintendo though, there's a good chance they might end up buying Factor5 key players and continue the team. The Turok 1 and 2 teams are what gave us Metroid Prime's series. F5 could easily breathe incredible life in to anything with wings. Factor 5 Starfox? Pilotwings? They're too good to just cast away, someone's going to grab them.
