Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit?

Doesn't matter now; I switched to my old one which runs fine, The new one is returning to the shop and it was basically a gift that I don't need now that old one is fixed.

Has anyone here had problems with vista?

See my various threads about Vista. I've had it since last April or so... the only Win9x game doesn't work at all that I've tried is Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance. I don't have Quake 4 or Medieval 2 though... tried CoD4 once, it works fine.

My old computer had 64 bit and the new one I have no idea.

I am not impressed with Vista and thats all I have to say about it.

Other than a few hitches here and there, Vista 32-bit runs just fine for me.

I've been playing Crysis, Stalker, Neverwinter Nights 2, Baldur's Gate 2, Rise of Legends, The Witcher, Unreal Tournament 2004, Simcity 4, Space Quest Collection, and The Settlers: Rise of an Empire virtually problem free.

    Vista 64-bit?

That was your problem then. Use Vista 32-bit.
