Ahahahaha, that was epic! Thank you so much for this. :shobon: [Image: dance.gif]

I'm not doing much of anything special, only going out to dinner with my parents. We'll probably get italian food. Also, a friend of my mother's gave her No Country for Old Men, and she doesn't like Cormac McCarthy's writing style, so she's giving it to me. I loved that movie, saw it twice in theatres, so I'm psyched on that. So wooooo to a free meal and a good birthday gift. Oh, and I'll also get to jam out with my dad on bass guitar. He taught my a couple Minibosses songs, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Wizards and Warriors. This is gonna kick ass.

Yeah, I tried copying and pasting that into my browser, despite the fact that it was named "Elephant wang" or something. Still got the same message, though.

My parents gave me a new acoustic guitar for my birthday!! *dances* My old one was crummy and hard to tune properly, its neck on a small slant. Hard to play, too, again, probably because of the distance between the neck and the strings as a result of its deformity. The new one sounds a little cheaper, but eh, I'll get used to it. I love it.

Congrats :D dont worry about the timbre, new guitars always sound like shit. As they age they'll sound better, especially with a lot of temp changes.

How did the jam session with dad go? :D do we get videos/recordings?

No jam session, sadly. :( We never got to it. But I had a good italian dinner, cake that was way too sweet, and some pretty good family time spent. Some boring moments (I was there about four and a half hours) but it was quite nice. I saw the new George Carlin special, it was pretty decent.

At least I'll now get to perfect my Mario Bros. 2. It's almost flawless, but I have to really perfect it so I can reliably hit all the notes consistently. The Wizards and Warriors one is very simple, I learned it in one sitting, and I like sort of improvising and filling in those spaces where you're supposed to hold notes. Lots of fun to just really get into, play the hell out of those thick strings.

Violent Femmes have a few good bass songs too, I gotta look into that more. And I realized that the Time (Pink Floyd) tab my dad taught me is very abridged and not really how the original bass goes, so I'm gonna try to learn that as well in the next few weeks. Comfortably Numb is likely the same way, I'll have to dig into that as well. Plus he still has to reteach me those Hendrix songs (we haven't played them in years), I remember they were fun as hell to play. God damn it, there's too much on my plate.

I'm also in the process of tabbing Wind Garden of Mario Galaxy (GOD DAMN IT HAVE YOU LISTENED TO THAT YET?!?!) on my new guitar. Fuck yes.

I saw him perform that act live when he was touring in support of in in early January. Good stuff indeed. I even snapped a picture of him!

I didn't realize George Carlin emitted so much light, or that he left a ghostly apparition in his wake.

Best picture ever. It's kinda fitting for Carlin. The whole... the 60's and his heroin and acid and "Ever seen a moth fart?"

He has a newness? When do I get to newness w/George? :(

Cock. It's in the bible? :( I saw a standup of his last year or so, he was on stage and looked frail but he still held the audience by their reporoductives. No real new material though, not that he needs any.

I demand jam session. Take your italian dinner and your sweet cake and your loving family and place them all in your poo star - jam session.

If its the first level theme I can do that on keyboard, the general rule is that you have to play it like an old western piano player in a bar that's about to break in to a fight scene. W&W I haven't tried but now i'm humming it so I could give it a shot... wasn't it part of an actual classical piece? Like the Gauntlet theme.

Yes. I declared it yumby and geuwd. It's that 'This is beautiful and magical and hay be careful cuz its weird around here" (because of the violins) music and it reminded me of some italian composers (how fitting). Did you notice how some of the tracks feel like Starfox 64? ...or is that just me. Alone in my own mind, finding similarities that dont exist, comparing odd things like Denny's coffee mugs to mastiff toenails and yet still exploring some bizarre common thread between them.

I'm glad your Vaginal Passing Day was good. :) Touch your family innapropriately for me.

Yep, that's exactly the one. When I was a kid, I used to listen to the tones of the notes and picture it like a conversation. You know after the first stanza, when it goes "doo doo Doo DOO, doo dah-doo dah-doo da da da doot doodoodoodoodoodoodoodoo, doo da da da doo-doo, doo da da da doo doo doo doo doodoooododooo, Doo doo doo!" I would always picture someone talking about a subject in a really kind of light and goofy way, laughing at it at the end.

Quote:W&W I haven't tried but now i'm humming it so I could give it a shot... wasn't it part of an actual classical piece? Like the Gauntlet theme.

Keep in mind, I'm only talking about the title screen. I don't know if that's the same thing that you're humming. Actually, that's probably the only part of the song that really interests me. I wouldn't be surprised if it did come from an actual classical piece, it has a better sound than anything else in the song/game soundtrack, I think.

Quote:Did you notice how some of the tracks feel like Starfox 64?

Actually, yeah, my room mate commented on the same thing, especially when you get the flying power-up. I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional. The percussion and melody are definitely reminiscent of Star Fox.

That black man elephant picture is creepy.

    init? :FuckYou:

It somehow looks real. Like that could actually happen. Almost like its a disease. And if it were a disease, it would probably be called something that has the word elephant in it. Like Elephantitus. And the first description of symptoms would be "Fucking creepy" and/or "nightmare fuel".

and i no wutchu mean, other people may not understand it tho so here's this:
