No, once SSBB comes out all copies of SSBM self-destruct. Didn't you know that? Mini hidden timers, spy movie (or Inspector Gadget) style... :)

A true sequel in a series like Smash Bros. SHOULD make its predecessor obsolete!

I like that they're doing things differently. 600+ hours with those characters is more than enough for one lifetime, let's get some new stuff going.

    Okay.

If Dr. Wright from SimCity gets an Assist Trophy cameo, Genos exclusion would be tantamount to blasphemy. He must be in. He will be in.

That having been said, Wright does seem to have a pretty freaking cool move :D

Will Wright's in it? Sweet! Well, his charicature anyway, but that's good enough. BUILD A CITY!

Yes, but here he is actually in-game. As in, having an effect on battles. I can honestly say I never expected that either.

Sakurai did say that we'll see some odd characters and ones that "only the most hardcore fan will recognize". I guess he was right...

Chrono Trigger wasn't published by Nintendo, though, so it's not as likely as characters from Mario RPG. It's still possible though given that 3rd party properties like Snake are in the game. I'm just holding out hope that Ness is still a playable character because I don't believe I've seen any screenshots with him.

Watch the gameplay part of the video here and right at the end, you can see what appears to be Pikachu's Final Smash and, more importantly, its victim: Donkey Kong. So theres another confirmed fighter in the roster.

There are just some characters they HAVE to put in the game, and DK is one of them.

    An Animal Crossing Stage!

The time of day in the village is determined by the Wii's internal clock. If that wasn't enough, guess what happens if you play on Saturday at 8pm..

    *Fanboy speculation*

My theory is thus: Animal Crossing Wii is in the works, and will have added content for Brawl. Meaning that when you fight on this stage, it will be YOUR village in the background (complete with any customization) and your villagers in the background watching. Hell, maybe even your own Animal Crossing self will come to watch a battle or two! What we see here could simply be a placehold village background for before the game comes out/those who do not own AC (heathens). It's not like it on a seperate memory card, either. It will all be right there in the Wii system memory to be pulled out for Brawl to use.

I know, I know, probably not. But come on. How freaking cool would that be?

That's a really good idea. Don't bother suspecting they will actually do it yet though. Just harbor it, silently, in secret.

Ahh, looks like we've got an answer to another of our questions. Zero Suit Samus does not appear to be a seperate character. Actually, the first trailer already kind of said what I'm about to...we just didn't know what we were looking at yet :D.

Samus' Final Smash is an uber-powerful charged shot, that does huge damage, but the blast also destroyes her Power Suit. That seems to be when Zero Suit Samus comes to play.

Another character we all knew would be back:

    http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/yoshi.html

It seems his egg toss now works as a third jump. It's about time. The first game he had NO third jump at all, which made using him awkward. Melee at least gave him something. I used his air dash as a third jump. Mind you, everyone else had air dashing so he only had one kind of 3rd jump to everyone else's two, but even though he didn't have much in selection, he at least had a third jump to use. I wonder how this'll work. I can't help but think it'll make aiming those eggs a little tough if I hop at the same time I ready the egg. Maybe it's something like when I throw the egg, I get kickback from it which gives me the lift.

Yeah, Yoshi didn't have a third jump, but his air jump was phenomenal. I always thought that balanced him out.

Compaired to Jigglypuff, it wasn't much. Also Jiggly could use that punch to get insane distance and float time.

You may change your mind after seeing it used in the hands of a master. That little sack of sleep can pull off some insane juggling when used right... Also, it knows how to break up a brawl so you always need to be watching the thing. I will say getting the timing of "sing" right is always tough.

Anyway, this is just AI here but I myself found Jiggly to be the best choice for finishing the 51st special mission mode thingy.

Yeah, the Ice Climbers is a pretty crummy character too, but in the right hands, I've gotten my ass handed to me with them.

So they've apparently added a footstool jump. It can be used to vault off of your opponent's head, high into the air, to recover and/or to perform a meteor attack. Can you imagine someone edge-guarding two characters, when one recovers by bouncing off the other character trying to get back on, stealing the edge-guarding player's kill in the process? So fucking awesome. I cannot WAIT for this game, even if it has reportedly been slowed down a notch from Melee.

    I lik-a the pitfalls.

Subspace Emmisary? Check out that site. The single player mode is supposed to be very in depth. I mean, what's going on here? I know Solid Snake will be asking that at some point (he always does).

That video there makes me wonder. Are those things... heartless?

Thanks to Eiji Aonuma, we got a big maybe on Melee's best character being brought back in Brawl. No, not Sheik. Sheik is dumb. I'm talking about GANONDORF. But Sheik is there too...I guess.

Quote:GI: Have you been consulted at all for the usage of Link or Sheik or Ganondorf for Smash Bros. Brawl?

Aonuma: I’ve been working with Sakurai for a very long time with this new Smash Bros., because the Wii came out and when discussion for a new Smash Bros. took place nobody could think of anyone other than Sakurai working on it. He was kind of the default, and I was very happy to hear that he would be working on it. Actually, my designers did work on the designs for Sheik and Link and Ganondorf. So they submitted the initial designs, and so it would fit in the Smash Bros. Brawl environment, they’ve had to tweak some of the designs. But Sakurai has brought those altered designs to NCL. We’re working very closely with the team of Smash Bros. Brawl to make sure the characters look their best.

Sheik is awesome, but I'd really like to see some other Fire Emblem characters... Ike is great too see, though.

I think I may faint. My favorite K.K. song from both AC games is going to be the background music for Smashville. It's, of course, been gloriously redone.

    Heroes ALWAYS arrive late!

    Also, Diddy Kong!

Also, the Burning Legion of Heartless attack!

I realized something today: As of right now there are 19 confirmed characters for Brawl. Only ten of those are returning from Melee. Melee had 25 characters in it's full roster, and granted, some may not return (I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ike take the place of Marth and/or Roy), but even then, we've got a massive roster on our hands here. And I'm willing to bet we haven't even seen a bunch of the new fighters either. I'm predicting a final roster of 40 That's a bit of a big estimate, I know, but seriously, just think of how the character select screen is going to look! NintendOverload!

I don't know, but that Smashville song has got me wanting this game even more than I already have. That's a lot.

    Oh, and thread renamed.

I'd say that the Smashville level says we should be expecting at least one playable character from Animal Crossing.

That would be kind of weird though...
