There's no E3, sadly ( :bummed: ), but some news has been coming out anyway... (mostly seen via neogaf)

Square-Enix
New Announcements
Star Ocean 1+2 remakes collection - PSP
Star Ocean 4 - Undisclosed Platform
Final Fantasy IV DS - DS
Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon - Wii
Last Remnant - 360/PS3 (simultaneous US/Japan launch)

More details for old stuff
FF Dissidia - PSP (new?) (fighting game)
FFCC - Wii (trailer)
FFCC - The Crystal Bearers - DS
FF XII International - PS2 (likely Japan only)
DQ IX - DS
etc.

Tecmo
New Announcements
Project Rygar (new game) - Wii

More details
Ninja Gaiden DS - DS

Namco - New
Soul Calibur Legends - Wii (action-adventure)
Tamagochi - Wii

Atlus USA
Growlanser V - PS2

Sega-Sammy
New
Ghost Squad - Wii (arcade light gun game port)

More info (confirmation)
Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core - Wii

Lucasarts
Lego Star Wars - The Complete Collection (1+2) - Wii

EA
Unknown Spielburg game - unknown? multiplatform including Wii?
Sims 2, Ea Playground - Wii

And other stuff I'm sure. Given that Star Ocean 1+2 is on PSP, I'd bet that Star Ocean 4 is PS3/360 or PS3 only...would've liked to see it on Nintendo, after how awesome the second Star Ocean game was on PS1 (and the first one on SNES), but oh well...

Hmm...well here's what caught my eye:

I do loves me some Soul Calibur. Wonder what this is all about.

Quote:Lego Star Wars - The Complete Collection (1+2) - Wii
Now here is a series I've always wanted to check out, but perhaps I'll wiat for Wii.

And...that's it. Is Brawl out yet?

There's also a rumor of the existence of something like a 'Mushroom Kingdom Hearts' floating around... I have no idea if there is any truth to the rumor, though. We'll see?

Quote:I'll take that, thank you.

Rereleases really, not remakes, but yeah, they are great games...

Quote:I do loves me some Soul Calibur. Wonder what this is all about.

No screenshots yet, just a paragraph in Famitsu and a logo, and maybe a piece of concept art... we'll see, but hopefuly it will be good. Supposedly it might follow Siegfried as the main character? I'm not sure...

Same here, I really should get them sometime...

Right, I wasn't trying to list everything that new information came out for that already has been announced. Just new games mostly, or substantive new info.

Well, if I needed a reason to own a PSP, that would be it. Star Ocean 2 is the third-best game ever made.

And perhaps I'm just out of the loop, but why is there no E3 this year?

You missed all that last year? Wow... it was big news for a while. Some game companies got tired of putting so much effort into the event, pretty much, I think... This year "E3" is by invitation only, several months later, and really small. Tiny little booths, not many attendees, etc... I know that E3 was supposed to be for "industry people" but a lot of other people were getting in, and it was a huge expense, but still, isn't having one big trade show a good thing? It got so much press... it sure it s a LOT less interesting without it around. Who knows, I half thought that it was killed by game companies tired of spending so much money but never being declared the winner... :) eh, could be wrong. Whatever it was, it's gone.

So will SO1 finally get an official English release or will this not come out here... let's hope for the former. The rom does have a translation patch, but official releases are always great to see... though I'd have rather seen it on Nintendo of course. Where I could actually buy it. :)

That was an April Fool's joke by EGM, but it would be pretty cool.

Mushroom Kingdom Hearts was this years EGM April Fool. The concept is terrific but, alas, not likely.

Though Squeenix and Nintendo have collaborated before...

Nah, total bullshit. No chance.

Also there's this Dragon Quest/Mario crossover game called Gibberish Street DS (the first word being in the devil tongue that is Japanese). Some sort of party game from what I can tell.

Okay so Dissidia is apparently a smash brothers style fighting game with all the Final Fantasy characters for the PSP. Huh... No seriously, how many programming teams do they have there? I seriously can't keep up, they are TEARING ME APART, and that's just one company. In other words, the explosion of the gaming industry means I can't keep up with it any more.

Still, the question is, when's Chrono Trigger getting ported to something? I still think PSP is the most likely option for it, to maintain those cool cut scenes anyway.

Are you suggesting that the old man at the end of time IS the ren and stimpy old man?

Not really on topic, but I've always wondered why tf it's so hard to come up with a decent Chrono Trigger sequel. I've read parts of the Chrono Cross story and it sounds like you need a PhD to understand it. Come on...

Lucca builds a fucking starship and sets off with Chrono to discover the origin of Lavos. Laser guns, decadent galactic empires, what's so complicated about it?

Lucca didn't build a starship you TWIT... TWIT. The dead scientist with the Nu that plays voice recordings built it and the faggy stuck up dude attached wings cuz he's in to that.

It's complicated because there's time strings everywhere that cross over, under, in between, through important plots, etc all of which no one cares about. Just Crono, and his girlfriends and the frog and the robot killing things and Zombor, with Flea and the balloons "if you hear Leene's bells" etc, something about a rainbow shell, Speed Tabs, Black Omen, Imps god damn and huzzah, nerds release a collective orgasm.

Uppity Squeenix and their ridiculous miss use of power, I smite th... someone will smite them all!

I misunderstood.

You have owned me.

I have been owned.

Pwned, p0n'd, etc

But when I wake up...

Tomorrow...

Even everyday... every day. That might be two words.

I feel good.

Because i'm not CANADIAN.

Put that IN your MOOSE and smoke it for a fortnight, and stop pretending you're European! YOU'RE NOT. The French hate you as much as us, euro-poser.

Chrono Cross is awesome.

Blue Dragon, on the 360, is apparently made by Chrono Trigger's "Dream Team". In fact the team has called it a spiritual successor to Chrono Trigger. Personally that's another RPG I can't wait to get ahold of, along with Eternal Sonata.

FFIV DS interview.

"Look, we're not making a rehash! We're changing a lot of things! Really!"

... yeah... if you say so... won't make it any less of a cashin, though. :)

Of course it's a cash-in. Every sequel/remake/spin-off is just that. But that doesn't make the games any less fun.

I'd rather have a remake of FFVI, though.

Aside from the storyline and characters, isn't this game almost completely new?

For that matter, what about RE-Remake?
