Is that 5 hours of actual phone conversation, or 5 hours of just leaving it on? It can't be the latter, that's an obscenely short time for a phone, but my iPod craps out after about 5-7 hours of constant play.

Sounds suspicious, although its other features are nice.

Those times are always actual use time. 5 hours would be horrible for just leaving it on. I'll be holding off on getting an iPhone even though I am such an Apple fanatic. For one thing Cingular sucks and I'm not about to switch to them. Another thing is I'm not willing to spend $500 on a phone no matter how incredibly cool and easy-to-use it is.

Yeah, I have a love-hate relationship with cell phones. They're quite convenient (obviously), but it's a pain in the ass when you're trying to avoid someone, or you have to be subjected to lame ring-tones in the middle of class or a movie. I'm taking an American Classic Cinema class (both in one fell swoop!) and the teacher yells at anyone any time he sees annoying blinking lights or hears a ringtone during a movie. I'm glad I'm in his class.

Damn, only Cingular? I probably wouldn't mind changing phone services much (I'd have to check rates and everything), but could you indulge me in a few reasons why you don't like them?

I wouldn't mind getting one of these things down the road if they're reliable (and apple products usually are, even though I do find my iPod's (Video)'s battery power to be inconvenient).

There were a few things I didn't dislike somehow, once, I think... :)

... But really I don't like phones.
