Seriously, we haven't had an once of rain here in exactly one MONTH. Not one bit of rain has falled since July 4th. It might be bearable if it weren't for the fact that it's also 100+ degress outside EVERY SINGLE DAY. I really like summer break, but summer weather is the pits.

    Summer break, that's funny.

Yeah, it hasn't rained in a few weeks. That's pretty normal though for this time of year.

For the first month and a half of summer it rained almost every day... or it sure seemed to. It was certainly far more rain that usual, that's for sure. It has let up some since, but still, I'm sure we're well over for the average precipitation at this time of year... hay crops ruined because of too much rain, etc...

As for heat, the day before yesterday was an opressive 90+, but fortunately it cooled down yesterday and it's back to the upper 70s. :)

Anything in the 90s is really, really hot for Maine.

It was 102 yesterday, a record for us. Yet, since the humidity was pretty low, it didn't feel nearly as bad as the 95 degree days with nearly full humidity.

90 may not seem like much to you guys out there, but here near the coasts, where the humidity can often be stifling, it feels much less pleasant than the number indicates.

We've only gotten about three good rains this entire year though. Usually get quite a bit during spring, but that was fairly dry as well. So yeah, the whole yard is brown and crunchy right now.
