As much as this thread shocked me in the direction it took, should I really be surprised that a thread stating Zelda is a fox would turn into a discussion about bestiality and whether or not animals have souls?

No, you really shouldn't. Really, though, it was LL's fault because he was the one that brought up how hot elves were though and how he wanted to be an elf. It was all downhill from there.

Quote:If they don't have souls then they don't get to live anywhere. They would just be robots reacting with zero self awareness, and that I can't accept! That would mean Cruella Deville and that evil butler guy weren't doing anything wrong!

If someone built a robot with selfawareness it still wouldn't have a soul! Same thing with selfaware animals. That's science, that is.

    Quote:bestiality

Let's just get one thing straight here, bestiality requires an ANIMAL, catgirls are merely humans with A FEW animalistic features [ears, tail, usually no more]. So technically it wouldn't fall under that category. That and the fact that they're not real.

But a soul IS the self awareness part. You can't build selfawareness without creating a soul, by definition, in the process!

What exactly do you think a soul is anyway? Some sort of ghost buddy that isn't actually "you" that you can talk to when you die?

Catgirls are really common in anime. Furries on the otherhand are a more western thing I believe. And the further down the rabbit hole you go the more distrubing it will get. People dressed up in fursuits having sex with one another to fullblown bestiality.

    As for this:

No, not really. The surprising part is that it took LL to turn it the way that was pretty much inevitable. :)

It was the best one I could find on such short notice! And I was merely trying to prove a point that catgirls are vastly different than furries. Besides, at least she's wearing clothing.

There's nothing wrong with catgirls in anime, but taking it any further than that is...well...disturbing. Majorly disturbing.

It's a fantasy... but yes, it is odd. I mean... a real felinoid would not look much like a human... :)

But yeah, sometimes they do just have the ears... it's probably more common to have a tail as well, though.

LL mentioned his penis in a round-about way and Grumbler's a pedophile that gets turned on by kittens and then ABF posts hentai links for everyone. We DO have a porn forum do we not? Are you guys trying to hit on me or something because it's WORKING... And yeah, LL, she's hot. Then you say "I wish I was an elf..." Holy God. Rampant sexuality runs amok.

The other catgirl pic makes up for it though, I think. This is anime though, so the catgirl in that first pic could really be like 16 or something. That's what the creators say sometimes, I don't know if I believe it though, but they say it anyway. Hmm...I wonder if catgirl years are different from human years?

Not only do they age at a different rate, the individual stages are different, I'm talking "to scale" here too. So, the idea of "cat years" and "dog years" is just silly, and won't help you really gauge anything about an animal's health. There's no quick division problem you can do, you just need to memorize an animal age chart, using Earth years.

And GR, you are in jail because, well, check your back yard! So THAT'S what that creepy guy sitting outside an elementary school in a van full of kittens was up to... Also, when you get out, if you don't get lynched by the other people in that cell, I've seen to it personally that you can never go within 500 feet of a costume hire shop.

Catgirls would age at a human pace, since they're mostly human. Sorry. :) As for felinoids, well... they're fictional so they can age at whatever rate the creator of that particular universe wants. Generally it's human-length as well, I'm sure.

Quote:Technically all you need is the ears, but most do have tails as well. Also notice the cat-like eyes.

Sorry, eyes and ears, not just ears. That's so much more realistic... yeah... :)

Quote:The other catgirl pic makes up for it though, I think. This is anime though, so the catgirl in that first pic could really be like 16 or something. They make them appear to be young in some respects, but that one is pretty typical, I'd say... that is, she looks young but yeah, is probably about that age. ... but it's fantasy, they aren't meant to look realistically proportioned for their age, so who knows... all we do know is that she's somewhere in her teens.

Quote:Other Scientist: *is splicing together human and cat genes* Do what?

Who knows what you'd get, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a catgirl... sorry.

    Wait a minute.

If a cat girl lives for say, 500 years. Then when they reach their 18th year (becoming legal) they'd be at a stage in puberty somewhere between 5 or 10 years old. Besides the age doesn't matter, the fact that she looks prebuscent and flashing her panties is enough to make me think GR has a 'problem' with his sexuality. Atleast Laser Link goes for the 'over 18' look. Regardless of ear size. (he's definitely trying to compensate)

That's assuming that catgirls live 500 years, though, which is something I'd think is pretty doubtful... unless it's an android catgirl, in which case they shouldn't age much at all. :)

And anyway, that catgirl isn't prepubescent... young-looking, but not that.

    This is prepubescent.

Well, yeah, and to be honest if it was someone else in this situation I'd probably be doing the same thing they are now. *begins digging out of the big hole*

First, what about my question a couple of posts ago about that wallpaper?

    Yes, you probably would have.

No, he said 'the Zelda from the EGM article'... which is this one. Sorry...

Um anyway yeah, that's Vaati in that picture ABF. He's a Minish who chose darkness, and also stole a hat that grants wishes, but only a few before it's used up and vanishes completely. He asked it to make him into a great and powerful sorcerer. Now, had he had the chance he might have later wished to be a genie and we wouldn't have to worry about him, but um, as it stood he instead decided that the power the hat gave him just wasn't powerful enough, so he saught the power of the Light. Turns out, the Light is hidden in the bloodline of the royal family, most expressed in Princess Zelda. He obtained ALMOST all of it, but Link STILL defeated him using the Kokiri Sword, which I do believe is actually the Four Sword. Also, it may just be that the Four Sword is to become the Master Sword. Anyway, Vaati, after becoming an evil dark cloud of... darkness (so much for the light, he corrupted it into darkness), Link sealed him into the Four Sword. So, there ya go, it's the story of the guy who originally sealed Vaati away long before the GBA Four Sword game.

GR, actually LL specifically was talking about whatever images of Zelda he saw in that magazine, so um, I'm ASSUMING she's all grown up just like Link. She looks pretty typically Zelda, except she's holding a sword now. Well, the OOT Zelda was a tomboy who fought as a ninja (I just love saying the word ninja.... nnnnnnnninnnjaaaa), and this Zelda (if it's the one from Wind Waker) is actually the pirate Tetra, so it makes sense.

Hey! You changed the topic, ABF! You can't just go around doing things like that! It has to just happen!!

That IS how it "just happens".

No no no, ABF said "Alright, let's change the subject". You just can't do something like that. See what has to happen is this:

    Me: Catgirls are coolest.

ABF: No way! BMWs are the coolest!

OB1: I'd rather have a private jet than a BMW.

Me: One time I flew on a plane to New York City.

DJ: I went to New York City one time but I didn't like it because they didn't have any rainbows or unicorns.

    ABF: Unicorns are stupid.

THAT'S how you change the subject.

The question is, will Zelda actually use a sword in the game? I mean, considering that since it's a Zelda game there's a high chance of her getting kidnapped... OoT was better on that, at least it was just for a little while at the end. Really, "Save the Princess" has gotten old... I hope this game doesn't use that template again (I mean, WW had a good story, but "save the girl" was at it's heart again...)

Well, you have a point. It's the LEGEND of Zelda, not the "SAVING" of Zelda, so having to save her isn't REQUIRED for the titles, just that she's in it. Well, okay LA didn't even do that, but at least they mentioned Zelda in passing near the start :D.

Are you kidding me? The pale, blue skin, the red eyes, the scowl, having one side of his face covered by his hair and the scars under his eyes...he's got evil written all over him.

Same with MM... and OoA and OoS... but the main Zelda games all seem to have that plot, at least in part... LoZ, AoL, LttP, OoT, WW... what about Four Swords, FSA, and Minish Cap, though? I don't know about those for sure (though I think they don't have it).

Anyway, the point is, that's an overused storyline, many times over, and I'm pretty much tired of it.

The scowl does look evil, but that's the main thing. The hair? I'd call that a 'myserious' thing, not an 'evil' thing... though pale/bluish skin often does mean evil, it doesn't always. In some games that could be a 'dark hero' character...

True. Nintendo actually believes in keeping the spirits of their games alive, and not destroying them, such as like what Ubisoft did to Prince of Persia...

Well he doesn't even need to be dark, just pure mysterious. Actually, he reminds me of Geno.

Link? Yeah, that should work... Link's always at least a bit mysterious, because of how he doesn't speak, though. :)
