On the one hand, there is a subset of RPGs that have skills that you can improve through repeat action -- in games like Quest for Glory or, I'm pretty sure, the Elder Scrolls games you can make your climbing better by trying to climb a tree over and over and over and over (and over) until finally you level up the skiill enough for it to work better.
But on the other hand... that's for actual skills that are the ones you are doing. Kicking a tree would level up your kicking skillthere or something like that. It's not just general experience that directly levels up all of your skills. So yeah, this is kind of weird...
