All a "press conference" does is add reporters to the scene. Today, it's all sound and fury. So long as Nintendo has a particularly long "Nintendo Direct" that reveals a lot, then I'm satisfied with that. Playable demos like the sort available at an E3 only now available to all Wii U owners would be a step in the right direction. Reporters will still be there, yes, but they wouldn't be needed for us to get that information. We could just go around them and see this stuff for ourselves.
