Lame endings are so, so common in anime, sadly. It's annoying, but it's so common that it almost isn't a downside, in a way... I mean, so many shows have nonexistent or very weak endings that you expect it some of the time. It's like anime makers are good at making their stories, but really bad at wrapping them up. Often that's because they're translating over mangas which are unfinished, but other times there's no excuse. I do wish that anime would get better at doing endings, I agree... but it's common enough that I don't think it is a deal-breaker. You mostly agree, I think, at least going by what you said here...
