I just wouldn't expect the tree itself to be a rigid pole swinging on a hinge like a reverse pendulum at the base. I'd expect it to sort of bent one way in a curved fasion and then swinge back a little before the wind forces it back again, in a sort of repeated bounce that never really swings back the other way due to the wind, like I see in real life.
But animation aside, that's still a nice looking scene.
