I don't think HDD's are the way of the future for consoles. Right now, it is rumoured that Sony will be using the "Blu-Ray" disc for their next console. Storage capacity of 80GB's, but the most important feature being that they are re-writable.
I think a re-writable disc would make much more sense. And would also make the system cheaper to produce, not to mention more stable, and smaller.
