Only 700 RCMP officers have been killed while on duty in the 130 year history of the force. That includes auto accidents and other non intentional deaths (as in not murders). That's a really low number considering that the RCMP is the equivalent of the US's FBI and also does local policeing for roughly half the country. I wonder how many police officers die on duty in the US every year, it's probabably somewhere close to taht number.
