As for them copying Nintendo's idea, N_A seems outright OFFENDED at it. I'm sure he was equally offended when Nintendo copied Atari's idea for "a game console using cartridges", or when people started copying the concept of "web pages" and "hyper links" when the internet was first formed, for the sake of being consistent.
Was Sony just supposed to lie down and die? Were they supposed to intentionally ignore Nintendo's innovation despite the fact that it really could prove important in designing new games? I didn't think so. There's nothing to be ashamed OF. So what if it's a blatent copy attempt (and not a very good one it seems).
Look at the alternative, or as I call it, Microsoft. They ignore all new innovations any other company makes, to their detriment. Look at IE, and the security changes they are making in Vista as I discussed in another thread. THAT is the price of not keeping an eye out on the competition, seeing what makes for a good innovation that should become standard across the market, and implementing that into your own product.
