Quote:And yeah, a KKK rally organized "peacably" in the middle of the town square is absolutely disgusting. However, even the opinions of the flat out WRONG have to be protected, to prevent someone who's opinions are flat out wrong from banning speech stating something that's right. Fortunatly, those hate messages propogate extremely slowly, much more slowly than the propogation of the message of tolerance. When such displays occur, generally the majority will gather around and tell them exactly what they think of their display. The hate group may try to instigate something, but as long as things go peacefully, they end up having to go home eventually having accomplished nothing, and maybe, just maybe, one of those idiots will think about it and possibly rid their minds of such stupid notions. I myself know that it is at least possible for a fundy to change their way of thinking should they allow logic and reason to take its course.
I was making the point that in many countries hate groups and speech isn't legal, but it is here because we have a stronger tradition of constitutional protection of speech... it might seem good to ban hate groups, but once you do that... well, lots of countries that ban hate groups regulate the media too. :)

But Conker's Bad Fur Day is a children's game, right? Remember, "M means mild"!
