That never works, DJ. Trust me :D.
The PSP had me worried about the handheld market for a while, but Sony seems to be sleeping on their laurels and expecting the same overthrow they so handily got during the PSX-N64 era. Problem is, their main competition has not one, but TWO handhelds, one of which is already deeply rooted, and the other is innovative, fun, and (perhaps most appealing to some) online right out of the box.
Not only that, but as Ryan pointed out, the game selection is positively dismal. I've barely seen the PSP game library expand since the system launched. Now I'm not saying Nintendo is the greatest when it comes to mass releases, but it seems that now they're willing to fight to keep their handheld market so as not to fall behind there as they did with consoles.
If they had been challenging the DS alone, perhaps it could have had a shot, but the GBA is a behemoth (the worlds smallest behemoth). EVERYONE with even the slightest desire to play games can afford one, and, by now, has one. The game library is massive and, like any systems, has it's must-buy games. DS even has a couple so far with Mario Kart, Nintendogs, and (to a lesser extent), WarioWare Touched! PSP...I've seen very little from it. When it first launched, I looked at one, but they were too much for too little.
DJ - Death Jr? Reviews I've seen said it's terrible. Can't go wrong with anything Metal Gear though. Awesomeness knows no system :D
