EGM: OoT is quitye possibly the best game ever made, how could you improve on something like OoT?

Miyamoto: We have many ideas of how to use this engine with Zelda and its mechanics (refering to MM and WW), but we also thought of a totally new type of experience one that is first person.

EGM: First Person? How would that work?

Miyamoto: (laughs) Not very well on existing hardware. No, it's just an idea right now.

    ------------------------

Famitsu: now that Nintendo announced the new realistic Zelda, what will happen to the WW style Zelda? Gone?

Anouma: I think we launched WW at the wrong time, a time when people want realistic over style. WW has sold millions so it wasn't a failure in that sense. As soon as we announced the new Zelda, people imedietley wanted to know what will happen to WW Zelda, telling us "dont kill WW!"... so I think we'll return to that style again, perhaps on a different platform.

    ------------------------

Miyamoto: I am more involved with Twlight Princess than I am with any previous Zelda, we want to make it the best Zelda you've ever played because this will be the last time we see Zelda as you know it. We are developing a completely new way of interacting (game engine) for Zelda on Revolution.

    -------------------------

Anouma: It's going to use the touch screen for a very unique control system that people have never experienced in a Zelda game before. One of the important elements of the Zelda series has always been that you feel like you're in the world doing the things that Link is doing and touching the things that Link is touching. This time you'll be able to use the touch screen and actually touch those items and objects yourself. As well as a new angle of sight.

    ---------------------------

    Zelda DS:

    -WW style graphics

    -First person

    -Completely new story line

    Controls: 'The Legend of Prime'

    Top screen = Status screen

    Bottom screen = game screen

D-Pad up and down = Move Link Forward and Backwards
Left and right = Turn (hold L to side step)

Face buttons = 4 slots for quick access to items.

Start pause, bring up map and inventory. Drag items to the four slots for quick access. Rotate map with stylus. (map and inventory can be seen on top screen)

R = Toggle screen mode in status screen. Map, inventory, equip. Pressing start allows you to change your current equip.

Hold L when near an enemy to lock on.
Holding L, with no enemies around, will enter side-step mode, hold L and use d-pad left and right to side-step.

Top screen displays map and compass info, as well as inventory and status (hearts, rupees) screens.

Use stylus to look and aim. By locking on to an enemy, Link can 'L-Lock' and circle strafe the enemy. While L-Locked, double tapping Up down left or right will perform a dodge move. L-Locking doesn't guarantee a direct hit, use your stylus to aim!

Sword = Get in close to the enemy and grab the sword's hilt with the stylus, slash with your stylus vertically, horizontally, diagonally or tap enemy to thrust the sword. The sword can also block attacks such as rocks or arrows by holding the sword at the appropriate height and angle. When Link has full hearts and is L-Locked with an enemy from a distance, tapping the enemy will shoot energy from your Sword.

    Hero sword (no powers)
Master Sword (fire energy at full hearts)
Zora Spear (Use underwater or on land, can be thrown like a spear underwater or on land)

Bombs = Tap the bomb to light the fuse then grab it with the stylus. The angle and distance can be changed in how you throw the bomb. Strike Stylus down to drop bomb, strike up or diagonal to throw forward. Strike the stylus with a curve to give the bomb some spin and increase its distance, this is useful when bouncing bombs off of walls and when trying to hit far away targets. When L-Locked and with bombs selected, tap the enemy to throw a bomb at it.

    Bomb
    Bombchu (Spying bomb)
Sticky Bomb (stick to all surfaces and enemies)

Boomerang = (Same as frisbee in Nintendogs with targeting of boomerang from WW) After throwing it, you have to time your catch. Tap the boomerang when it returns to you to make Link grab it again for another throw imediately. Tapping enemies will create a targeting reticle, you can target up to 5 enemies at once - release your boomerang and it will seek out the targets. If your boomerang gets stuck in an enemy and while in L-Lock mode, get close and pull the boomerang out with the stylus.

    Boomerang (5 targets)
Magical Boomerang (will fly out infinitely until called back by tapping Link's hand, can target all enemies on screen)
Flying Edge (never gets stuck, cuts through most enemies, trees, etc Cannot be multi-targeted)

Bow = The longer you hold it with the stylus, thr more power the arrow will have. Aim with the stylus. Arrow's travel in an arc so be careful when aiming. While charging the arrow, you can spin the stylus in a clockwise or counterclockwise to change the rotation of the arrow in 4 positions, giving it more or less of an arc. Try different rotations to find what best suits each situation. When L-Locked, charge the bow as normal, try to anticipate the movement of the enemy and use the different rotations for an instant kill

    Arrows
Fire Arrows (travel twice as fast, some arc, when fully charged explode on contact)
Ice Arrows (slower speed and arc as normal arrows but freezes enemies and the ground around it. Use them while over water to create small islands and when fully charged can create bridges and stairs)
Light Arrows (4 times as fast, no arc, when fully charged - enemy seeking, explode on contact)

    Hero's Bow
Pegasus Bow (shoot twice as far)
Legendary Bow (shoot 4 times as far, has zoom feature for sniping)

    um.... what else? :D
