Quote:When they say that "you can play every Nintendo game ever made", I'm pretty sure that they ONLY mean NINTENDO games, from EAD or Hal.

Yes, they were referring only to Nintendo-developed/published titles, but I'm also sure that they will work with third parties to try to get their lineups for the service, as you say. Actually, Nintendo has said that they are at least thinking about what to do for that. I'm sure we'll see stuff from the big third party publishers that still exist.

As you say though, the real question will be games from now-dead companies. Not much chance of seeing them, I think, unfortunately... anything else could get released, though I doubt they just release EVERYTHING. After all, you wouldn't want to make you fans TOO happy, right? :) So release some and randomly hold some back for no apparent reason (if you really want to be great, release them in Japan but not here as well!)... :D

Quote:I may have mentioned this before but, I see this situation playing out more like this...

"Sir, Nintendo wants to know if we'll allow them liscensing rights to download all the non DK games from past systems onto their revolution system, in exchange for a minor cut of the profits made."

"No, I think I have a better idea..."

Consumer: "Wow! I can download Battletoads onto the 360!

Nintendo: ...This is dumber than that time I turned the stairs into a slip and slide...

Unfortunately, you're probably right... so don't expect RC Pro-Am either. :(

Sony (or Sony Imagesoft, as they called their games division for a while) also released Nintendo games, of course. I doubt we'll be seeing those ones either... except for a few weird exceptions like Wipeout 64, which because it was published by Midway might manage to get releleased (either for Rev. or DS), despite the fact that it was developed by a team that's now a Sony first-party developer, and was being bought by Sony at the time they developed the game. :)
