Nintendo has always opted for sounds, grunts, yells, etc because reading a character's dialogue is more popular in Japan and you can 'make up' what the person sounds like. But those sounds they do make are recorded in a sound studio BY voice actors. Like I said, if you count how many hours are logged in a sound studio fine, but Nintendo constantly uses the studios for foley and voice acting. I've seen Nintendo's sound studios, they're as impressive as Skywalker Sound. They want to have less voice acted dialogue, that's it.
